The announcement went somewhat under the radar amid the hustle and bustle of E3, but there is a story expansion in the works for Horizon Zero Dawn. Guerrilla shared a short video of The Frozen Wilds at the show (embedded here for your convenience). Now, we have a date: November 7, 2017.
"Set in icy territories to the north, this new chapter of Aloy's journey adds a new area to explore, new mysteries to uncover and new, highly lethal machines to take on," reads the summary.
I might actually use the expansion as a chance to give Zero Dawn another serious go. I took a short hiatus partway through that ended up becoming a full-blown break. The game's been in my backlog ever since. The individual pieces are all there, and I love the premise, but it hasn't grabbed me yet.
