News::Battlefield 4 dev DICE on the importance of 60fps

Buy the next-generation version of Battlefield 4 and you'll get the "full Battlefield experience", developer DICE has told Eurogamer. The Swedish developer has used the PC version of the game, which as Battlefield 3 players know features huge 64-player battles and, if your computer is up to it, 60 frames per second visuals, as the target for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions of Battlefield 4, due out later this year. Battlefield 4 on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One includes 64-player battles and 60fps visuals, unlike the console versions of Battlefield 3 and the current-gen versions of Battlefield 4.

News::Majora's Mask remake still on Miyamoto's mind

Nintendo is still thinking about a potential remake of The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask . Speaking with IGN, series creator Shigeru Miyamoto said "they're still in my memory" of Zelda fans that have long clamored for an enhanced version of the Nintendo 64 classic.

Miyamoto and his team were considering giving the title a new lick of paint just last year. At that time, other ideas for portable Zelda releases included something entirely new and a follow-up to A Link in the Past. Obviously, we know what direction they decided to take, given the recent announcement of A Link Between Worlds . Still, with the forthcoming release of Wind Waker HD and increasing fan demand for a Majora's Mask remake, a return to Termina sounds like an inevitability.

News::Review: Jak and Daxter Collection (Vita)

I have an interesting relationship with the Jak and Daxter series. I went into the first game expecting absolutely nothing, and came away so impressed that I now consider it one of my most beloved platformers of all time.

But was once a whimsical and fairly child-friendly series quickly took a dark turn, as Jak is not only captured at the beginning of the second game, but tortured for two years and turned into a half-mutant dark version of himself. Jak was no longer the cute mute he was in the first innocent adventure -- he was animated, vocal, and angry. This evolution of the formula is just one way Naughty Dog kept the franchise fresh, and relevant.

In other words, you absolutely need to experience this trilogy -- but probably not on the PlayStation Vita.

News::Reus Review | Gaming Furever

Acrasial from Gaming Furever reviews Reus: "Starting with nothing but a barren and lifeless planet there can sometimes be a sense of hopelessness for the creation of life. If not for the powerful giants of your planet that create the very essences of life, there would be no hope for a flourishing populace to ever sprout from the dust that mars the surface of the world. Puzzle games for quite some time have been A to B while solving complex problems in a minimal prop location. However in Reus, you seem to have more flexibility with how you can create life on the cracked and lifeless surface of your world. The giants that you use each create a set of plants, animals, and minerals that correspond to their element (although fire and air are not among them). This can lead to an endless as well as seamless distribution of wealth in the populaces and in some cases an all-out war between greedy nations that do not respect the giants and ask more of them. You play God when it comes to Reus a...

News::The Daily Hotness: Rejoining the dark side

I have a confession to make. I miss the Xbox One's DRM. Not because I liked it, but that it made choosing between Xbox One and the PS4 so much easier. Now that it's gone, I'm finding myself seriously considering purchasing an overpriced system, and sticking with an online service that acts as nothing more than a multiplayer pay wall.

Today, Max Payne 3 finds its way to the Mac, DOTA 2 is available to all without a beta key, GOG.com has a massive sale, and the Halo Reclaimer trilogy is now a saga.

News::Marvel Heroes Review - GameRevolution

GR: "Scarlet Witch, Daredevil, The Thing, Hawkeye I ignored these to play with Storm and her ranged weather attacks. The developers also gave me roughly $20 of in-game currency and a bonus pack of characters (I went with the Avengers pack) for review purposes, but I was curious to see how much of Marvel Heroes could be enjoyed for the low, low price of $0. In gameplay and design, Marvel Heroes won't turn any heads, but unlockable content and hours of totally free gameplay demand an optic blast or two from PC and comic enthusiasts."

News::AMD won the next-gen console war, and PC gamers could reap the reward

Sony and Microsoft will be duking out the next console war for years to come, but there's one company that wins no matter what: chipmaker AMD, which managed to put processors in every new console, including the Nintendo Wii U, the PlayStation 4, and the Xbox One. If you buy any new game console this holiday, you'll be helping to fill AMD's depleted coffers but AMD's sweep could have far more significance than that. The company's dominance in next-gen consoles could actually make PC gaming more relevant than it's been in ages.
