News::What Divekick taught me about the art of simplicity

Divekick may be the most outrageous fighting game to come along in some time, but beneath its parody and simple gameplay is something elegant and honest.

News::No Money, No Problem: Boson X

Boson X is described as a "rotational runner" but that quick description doesn't do justice to this polished reflex testing platformer. News::XIII Pixel Judge retro review

PJ: "Never go into a game that you havent played for a long time with nostalgia goggles on; it shall leave you heartbroken and disappointed with your past self. When I first played XIII in 2003, I was eleven years old, and my younger self led my present self to believe that this game was amazing, and worth another go. Ive trusted my younger selves before when its come to older games. My seven year old variant, for example, turned out to be a trustworthy fellow when he urged me to play Dungeon Keeper 2, after insisting that it was an ageless classic. Apparently though, something changed over the course of four years because eleven year old me is a lying little shit."

News::Papers, Please Review | BioGamer Girl

BioGamer Girl states, "Sitting behind a desk all day checking people's legal documents for any discrepancies and making life changing decisions for low pay that barely affords you enough money to feed your family doesn't sound like a fun time does it? Yet, that is exactly what you do throughout the entire campaign of the new indie title Papers, Please. The game isn't quite as boring as it sounds at first, but looking over numerous documents for hours on end can quickly become a bore, and the darkness the game exudes is more than enough to trap gamers in a state of depression after choosing who to allow into safety of the game's fictional country while turning others away just to feed the player's own family."

If somebody had said a few months ago that Saints Row IV would be a generic shooter, a Metal Gear Solid Clone, a Godzilla Ripoff, a risque text adventure, a Streets of Rage clone and the best damn superhero game ever made, all at the same time, Game-Modo would have asked them to share the rather potent drugs theyd been taking and then have them sectioned because obviously theyd be stark raving mad, right? Wrong. Heres what Game-Modo think of the rather schizophrenic Saints Row IV.

News::Saints Row 4 Review - JumpToGamer

Saints Row has always been a series that pushes the boundaries on what an open world can be since debuting on the Xbox 360 in 2006. What started as a player driven gangsters dream has slowly turned into a caricature of most open world games. Since being liquidated, publisher THQ has sold off many of its properties including Saints Row. Developer Volition now releases the series under publisher Deep Silver, but is facing a lot of controversy, criticism, and bugs; the good news is that Saints Row 4 is the best addition to the series yet, but I think its important to keep in mind that Saints Row 4 was originally DLC for The Third.

News::Gamers Are Getting Too Sensitive

It is lucky of us as gamers that those that are ignorant and blame video games for violence dont keep up with the industry, especially with many of the video game journalists out there. Hearing some of the complaints over the last couple of years about video games from us the gamers and the journalists that write/talk about them are starting to get very ridiculous. It is like everyone is getting too sensitive about the violence and other actions in games these days and we just need to remember what we told those that wanted to blame our beloved hobby for violence in the world, they are just video games.

In the three years since the release of Lost Planet 2, popular opinion of the franchise has plummeted. The series began with Lost Planet: Extreme Condition, an early hit exclusive for the Xbox 360 that was acknowledged for some revolutionary game-design aspects and an underutilized setting. News::Saints Row IV Review | STFUandPlay

STFUandPlays Brian Munjoma writes; "I dont know about you but Im getting annoyed with these annual sequels. The first ones I noticed were the sports titles, though I let them pass because team rosters change every year so it makes sense to make a new game every, but then again DLC. Next was the Need for Speed games and again I let them pass. It was because each game so vastly different from the last, each had its own take on speed. Then came the Call of Duty & Assassins Creed franchises; however neither got a pass from me. Why you ask? Because each title barely changes from the last and in some cases are worse. Now we have Saints Row 4, sequel to last years Saints Row: The Third. Now Saints Row would fall into this category if Saints Row 4 wasnt the end of the saga and what ending it is!"
