News::Raphael SMASH in this TMNT: Out of the Shadows trailer

The bad boy of the Turtles makes his proper debut in a new trailer for Activision and Red Fly's Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows. Compared to Mikey, Raph is a lot more aggressive and brutal -- watch him Izuna drop the sh*t out his victims and send them to the head trauma ward!

Since I can't think of anything else to type here pertaining to the game, I'd like to talk a little bit about the Nickelodeon cartoon. Did you know that Raphael is currently voiced by Sean Astin? Friggin' Samwise Gamgee is the amphibious hothead. Almost as crazy as American Pie's Jason Biggs voicing Leonardo.

Anyway, you know the drill. Out of the Shadows. PSN, XBLA, Steam. Yadda, yadda.

"Game Dev Tycoon is cruel, unfair, punishing, overly-complex, and all that, but that is what makes it so important. Its an accurate simulation on a physical level, and a meaningful, influential statement underneath, whether intended or not. From its ever changing rules and fickle nature to its high player expectations and attention-garnering anti-piracy measures, its a game that isnt spectacular, but is still one that needs to be played. Anyone who cares about games, writes about games, and complains about games especially anyone who wants to make games needs to play this. At least I know Im not cut out for it." From Strategyinformer.com: "Paradox doesnt do casual games, but if they did, theyd probably... well, look exactly like Leviathan Warships. Leviathan Warships is a great example of a game thats deceptively complex fairly simple, no fuss concept that leads to endless amounts of tactical micro-management and customization. For those of you who havent read up much about it yet, allow me: taking command of a flotilla of ships (typically can go from 1 ship up to around 6, depending), you must navigate through a small-ish map to seek and destroy your opponents flotilla of ships. News::New Adventime Time game coming, will be multi-platform

A GameFly listing appeared yesterday, reconfirming the existence of the upcoming Regular Show videogame. D3Publisher has put out a press release this morning officially announcing Regular Show: Mordecai and Rigby in 8-Bit Land, which is being developed by WayForward in close collaboration with series creator J.G. Quintel.

But the big surprise is that WayForward is also working on an Adventure Time follow-up to Hey Ice King! Why’d You Steal Our Garbage?!! The newly unveiled Adventure Time: Explore the Dungeon Because I DON’T KNOW! -- God, I love those subtitles! -- is going balls to the wall with versions on Wii U, Xbox 360, PS3, PC, and of course 3DS. You won't have to go spelunking through the Secret Royal Dungeon below Ooo on your own, as there will be four-player co-op. Oh, and the voice acting that was sadly missing in the last game is here in full force!

There's also an new Ben 10: Omniverse game in the works, but nobody really gives a toss. All three are set for a Fall 2013 release.

News::F2P Flight Sim War Thunder to land on PS4

It may have a name straight out of the “random aggression” wordbox, but Gaijin’s flight sim War Thunder is sounding all sorts of interesting. Coming from the developer behind the exceptionally-good IL-2 Sturmovik series of flight sims, this successor isn’t just parachuting into next-generation consoles, but is also going to be one of the first F2P games on the PS4.

The team is led by the industry-leading Oleg Maddox and is promising “powerful graphics and speed, intelligent personalization, deeply integrated social capabilities, and innovative cloud options”. We’re assuming the latter is do with cloud gaming and not actual clouds, though Mr Maddox’s boys do make some delightfully curly strato-cirrus.

The game features PvP modes, multiple settings for experienced pilots and newbies, tons of PvE content (including campaigns and a mission editor), co-op gameplay, and more authentic planes than you can shake a WREN at. As you can see from the trailer at the bottom, it’s not half bad to look at.

It remains to be seen whether the team can make a game that bridges the gap between console and PC audiences, between the hardcore simulator fans who panic at a loose bolt and the arcade fans who expect the plane to bounce off the ground intact. But going free-to-play and on PS4 at launch shows that they’re totally fearless. The game is already available in Open Beta for PC gamers here.

“We’re convinced that our cooperation with Sony will not only make the War Thunder franchise better, but it will give our fans a new level of gaming experience that will figuratively blown their mind.” said Gaijin Entertainment’s Creative Director Kirill Yudintsev. “Partnering with Sony Computer Entertainment is the most natural progression for the War Thunder brand, from our hugely successful beginnings on PC with more than 1.5 million players, to our recent announcement that War Thunder is under development for mobile devices. We are excited to bring War Thunder to the leading next-generation platform, the PS4.”

News::Metro: Last Light Review (Strategy Informer)

From Strategyinformer.com: "Metro 2033 I personally considered my best FPS of 2010 but it was not without its flaws, which many gamers wouldnt be able to see past. The guns were unsatisfying, stealth just didnt work, checkpoints were all over the place, and there was one escort mission with exploding green blobs that nearly had me chucking my PC out the window in rage and frustration (it is the pinnacle of terrible escort missions). Which was sad, since the story was well told, the world was interesting, the levels kept on surprising, and the heavy influence of Half-Life on the title shone through. With a bit of tweaking Metro 2033 could have been considered an out-and-out classic, even a game of the year contender, instead of a flawed gem. Now developer 4A Games is having another go with Metro: Last Light, and theyve polished their formula to a shine. Nearly. ".

News::Review: ShootMania Storm (DarkZero)

"When Ubisoft announced the ManiaPlanet platform at its E3 2010 press conference and at the same time revealed two titles that would join with TrackMania 2 in the Mania family, these being ShootMania and QuestMania, I was full of excitement. I am an avid fan of the TrackMania franchise, not only because the games themselves are fantastic, but also becauset Nadeo created a self-contained environment that allowed people full control in creating an unlimited amount of tracks and decals for TrackManias themed courses and vehicles. Applying that concept to a shooting game and a RPG sounds damn right amazing. ShootMania Storm took a while to arrive from its scheduled release of Q1 2011, but its here now, so after spending time with the game, is it worthy of the Mania title and the ideas that come with that?"

News::Metro Last Light Review | The Slanted

If there is one thing that 4a-games completely nailed while designing Metro: Last Last, it is the utter hopelessness that one would encounter after a horrific incident sweeps the population. The now reduced population clings to one-another in small tribes underground, pooling their resources and living under the idea that safety can be found in numbers. The game really has two forks in expanding the world. There is the story-path with its action-packed, largely cinematic displays of brilliance, and the exploratory path. The former plays out like the epilogue of prior events. Exploring, or not following the mission exactly is a continuation of the theme mostly. Its informative and offers a deeper understanding of the world around you but nothing that absolutely pulls you away from the main focus.

News::Defiance Review | Tech Raptor

I've been keeping my eye on Defiance for a while now. As I am a huge Science Fiction fan, Syfy has always been my home for some of my favorite shows. That said, I watched two episodes of the show, and got hooked. Naturally, the next step was to check out the game. If my goal was to find a game to put down, I failed pretty hard, because I haven't put down Defiance in over a week. Normally, I'm not a fan of MMOFPS's, but the thought of a MMO made by Trion in combination with a Syfy show was incredibly intriguing. A lot of people have reviewed this game, and I mean, a lot. The sad part is, everyone seems to have rated Defiance really poorly, which is not something that Defiance deserves. You can't compare a game of this magnitude to something like World of Warcraft or various other MMO's. Not to mention, if the reviewer is not watching the show itself, you won't get the same level of enjoyment out of Defiance. There are a lot of reasons to like Defiance, the primary one being th...

New outfits and accessories that can be picked up as you progress on your journey have been confirmed, as is the world map (the Kalos region), and the tentative box art for X and Y.
