News::Magic 2015 Duels of the Planeswalkers: I am not the target audience it seems

GameZone's Jake Valentine: "There is no possible room for any of types of complex interactions from my early experiences in Duels of the Planeswalkers 2015. Every game has been a simple affair of Magic: the Gathering. Sometimes it's nice to just sit back and play some cards, but the enthusiast in me wants more."

GameZone's Jake Valentine: " The original Dota was responsible for creating an entire genre. Without Defense of the Ancients, theres no Dota 2, no League of Legends, no Smite, no massive cult-like followings. The original Dota was also an absolutely terrible game."

News::Unrest Review - Mouse n Joypad

Gale writes -"How interested would you be in a game that has you controlling a poor villager, a princess, and a simple priest? How could a game that delves deep into politics and human sociology be taken as anything but an experimental software with little in the way of actual gaming value? As it turns out, Unrest manages to be both clever and interesting with little effort. Its combination of exploration and dialogue is more than enough to entice every RPG gamer out there, without having to turn towards violence to make the gameplay inviting."

News::Tekken It to the Limit With Katsuhiro Harada

Gamespot: I'm sitting at a cramped little table at the Las Vegas Resort & Casino surrounded by Bandai Namco's Katsuhiro Harada, Daisuke Murano, and Michael Murray. We're smack-dab in the middle of the casino floor discussing fighting game development. Across from us, several rows of slot machines come alive with bright lights and electronic jingles for their patrons. Money goes in, but never comes back out. This isn't surprising. One machine continuously plays a sweet eagle screech.

News::Bungie settles with Halo composer Marty O'Donnell

Back in April, Halo composer Marty O'Donnell said he had been terminated from Bungie "without cause," and proceeded to file a lawsuit against the company on May 1. Bungie went on to deny wrongdoing later that month but has since settled with O'Donnell, reports GamesBeat.

The studio will pay its former audio director approximately $95,000. That's $38,385 in unpaid work and vacation time, another $38,385 in damages, and the rest in attorney's fees and interest.

Still hard to believe that the two have parted ways after all these years together.

News::Alien: Isolation - Preview | GamingLives

GamingLives takes a look at The Creative Assembly's take on the much-loved Alien franchise. "Soon, however, the experience was bought to a sudden end. It wasnt because of developer interruption, player mistake or a fault with the game I simply got outwitted by the AI. It jumped up into a ventilation shaft and I watched my motion tracker follow its movement away from my location as a feeling of relative safety washed over me except I was being played. It doubled back as soon as I moved past the opening of the shaft. I was dead in seconds. Was I just unlucky or did it know where I was all along? It could have gone anywhere, and yet it turned around despite the fact I made no noise. A formidable adversary, indeed."

News::[The Metropolist] The psychology behind MMOs (or why you cant stop playing World Of Warcraft)

To many, gaming is a past time that has become synonymous with addiction. Whether its your partner rolling their eyes at your Titanfall all nighters, or your parents irrationally equating the medium to some kind of deranged cult, video games certainly have a reputation as an all consuming hobby. Yet while a huge amount of gamers will happily sink thirty hours into GTA or play thousands of matches of FIFA and COD, these engulfing titles are nothing compared to the games that truly inspire obsession...

News::Luigi's death stare returns in new Mario Kart 8 TV ad

Oh Nintendo, you sure do love your memes. Whether it's the readiness of one's body or feeling just like a purple Pikmin, the platform holder isn't afraid to poke fun at itself on occasion.

The latest example of this playful attitude comes in the form of a Japanese television spot for Mario Kart 8 , featuring Luigi's extolled scowl. Is it too late in the day, though? It seems like this bright star might have already burnt out. Maybe we're just flogging a dead horse here.

GameZone's Mike Splechta: "Since this was officially my first time getting my hands on The Crew at my own leisure, and not constrained by a time limit on the E3 show floor, the one thing I always wanted to do was to see just how big the map of the US is in the game. Given that it's a scaled down map of the US, instead of a direct recreation, I was curious to see just how long it would take me to drive from one major city on the East Coast, to another on the West Coast."
