News::There's a Canada-only DuckTales iOS third-person shooter

While fans of the Disney Afternoon have been anxiously awaiting the release of DuckTales Remastered, Disney had tossed a separate DuckTales-branded game onto iOS devices. It is called DuckTales: Scrooge's Loot , and it is a third-person shooter.

Wait. It gets better.

This game is currently exclusive to Canada.

Say what now?

In this title, the Beagle Boys have snagged Scrooge's money, so it's up to the citizens of Duckburg to get the gold back. You get to play as such memorable DuckTales characters as... Adventurer! Inventor! Chef! Pilot! Remember the episode where Scrooge squared off against Chef to win a four-player deathmatch? I think Gizmoduck might have been in that one.

News::Review: Divinity: Dragon Commander

Dragons and jetpacks, Civilization and StarCraft. Mix'em all together and what do you get? Divinity: Dragon Commander.

Okay, it's a bit more complicated than that, but those are certainly the core elements at play when discussing Divinity: Dragon Commander. It's not quite a real-time strategy game as complex as StarCraft, and it's just shy of being as big-picture as Civilization. It does have jetpack-wearing dragons, however, which sort of puts things in perspective. I mean, what else really matters?

News::Senran Kagura Burst will hit retail AND digital in Europe

Gentlemen, get your oils and scented candles ready, because Senran Kagura Burst will be arriving in Europe some time in Q1 2014. Americans received a localization confirmation from XSEED earlier this week, seemingly leaving our brothers across the pond out in the cold. Publisher Zen United has thankfully taken up the cause of bringing 3DS schoolgirl ninja brawling to Euro Land.

Though the American version is slated to be digital only, the European version will receive both an eShop and retail release. You may remember back when XSEED executive vice president Ken Berry explained that a physical release of Senran Kagura would likely be out of the cards "due to the subject matter and difference in attitudes between Japanese culture and the more conservative culture here in the US." The whole of Europe apparently does not share the same attitudes, which cements the States as the biggest prudes in the developed world.

But at least now everyone will have the chance to purchase Burst. I've been legitimately interested ever since watching the manic gameplay clips on YouTube, so count me in.

News::Lilly Looking Through Preview | GIZORAMA

GIZORAMA - While most triple-A developers in the current games market seem to think that sensory overload is the key to an engaging experience, independent developers are constantly surprising and impressing us with simple, subtle and finely crafted games. Geeta Games debut title Lilly Looking Through appears to fall into the latter category; a beautiful, intimate and oddly relaxing adventure game. Described as an animated adventure for all ages, Lilly Looking Through is a rather quaint point-and-click adventure game with a focus on aesthetic quality and solvable logic puzzles. The games demo reveals very little to us, but from the outset there are a few things we are aware of. Our titular hero Lilly is a young girl, who, for whatever reason, has found herself exploring a dark, magical forest. She, alongside her brother Row, makes her way through this mysterious location with the aid of the players mouse clicking and puzzle solving skills.

News::Saints Row IV Preview (ITF Gaming)

Bracken Lee-Rudolph from ITF Gaming writes: The Saints Row series has amassed a cult following due to its blend of crude humour, iconic parody and sandbox gameplay on the current gen consoles as well as its fair share of controversy from crude, violent and drug-related themes. However, developer Volition Inc.s habit of shrugging off criticism and getting on with their jobs has won more than one fan (including myself), as well as resulted in a series of games that was very true to their original vision. However, as we head into the fourth numbered title in the franchise, will Saints Row IV remain true to the ridiculous nature of the Saints Row brand?

News::More details on the Amazon console surface

TechCrunch has heard from its own sources regarding the Amazon console, and they have quite a bit more info to share. The hardware Amazon is building could be powered by a Qualcomm MPQ chip, which is the Snapdragon processor line that's used in smart TVs and set-top box devices already. They speculate that this console is the same one that Wall Street Journal reported on before, suggesting that Amazon is looking to put out a media box that offers games, music, and movie services.

Additionally, TechCrunch has heard from multiple sources that Amazon has approached developers to create exclusive games for their console, on top of all the third-party offerings.

Amazon is definitely working on something. If so, it will certainly give Roku, Ouya, GameStick, and others a run for their money. The exception being if Google's own rumored console turn out to be true. That, and if Apple actually decides to enter the ring as well.

News::RePlayed: Saints Row: The Third

GodisaGeek: "Once upon a time, video games were designed to be one thing, and one thing only: fun. Before they were developed to be modern art, before it really mattered if they turned a million dollar profit, before people cared about photorealistic visuals or franchise power, games were created to pass the time, to make us smile, to bring us together. These days, the concept of fun is something that seems to be factored in late during a games development, or sometimes not at all, at least in the case of big AAA franchises. Developers think nothing of actually tempering the fun with long moments of, well, non-fun, in order to pad out a games run-time or show off their flashy new engine. Take Assassins Creed III, as an easy example. Playing as the highly-skilled, lethally-trained Haytham Kenway throughout the opening several hours has its moments, sure, but theyre interspersed with too much talking, too much walking, during which Ubisoft get to show off all the cool thing...
