News::PCAdvisor- Leviathan: Warships Review

PCA:Leviathan: Warships is a game of classic warship tactics...or would be, if Admiral Nelson had railguns and lasers at his disposal. Victorian styling, World War I armoured battleships, and far-future force fields and beam weapons combine to give Leviathan a unique style that works perfectly for a tactical game.

Overall the first Metro: Last Light DLC pack was solid. News::Dark Review | WGTC

Michael from We Got This Covered wrote: When Realmforge Studios first began developing ideas for Dark, Im positive that they were swept away by irresistible desires to create a bold new stealth game that capitalized on a rich history of vampire mythology. The allure of infusing the supernatural elements of the vampire with engaging gameplay of a third-person stealth action game is enough to seduce anyone. There were bold visions of players maneuvering through the shadows, teleporting from cover to cover, and fatefully sinking their fangs into some poor schmuck. It was probably even pitched with some clever tagline like, Bringing new blood to the stealth genre. It had potential.

News::These winning community-made Dark Souls II shields rock

From Software has narrowed down the fan-made shields for the Dark Souls II design contest and a few of them are spectacular. The six winning artists will get their design put into the game, their name in the credits, and a signed copy of Dark Souls II.

The winners of the Asia and United States categories -- the lion and the tally-mark one, respectively -- are my favorite, but these along with the green eye shield aren't going to be in the game. The artists who designed them are getting a signed copy, however, so that's something.

After looking over some of the losing entries, I'm hopeful a gracious modder will once again come through to allow for custom shields.

News::New screenshots of End of Nations as a MOBA

End of Nations has returned as the game's Alpha servers are back up. Only invited fans can test out the newborn game, and those of you interested can register for more of the Alpha taking place this Summer.

Players will notice a streamlined UI, cleaner graphics, smaller teams of two to four players, more emphasis on commander abilities, four new classes to pick from, and more focused objectives. That, and it's also a MOBA now.

“We received a tremendous amount of positive feedback from our last round of Alpha and Beta testing – and applied those learnings to the game, boiling it down to the strongest core game elements –tactical combat, session-based gameplay, and vastly improved hero units,” said Scot Lane, Executive Producer of End of Nations. “Our core fans have been tremendous during this stage of early development. We are now confident we have the game the fans have been waiting for: a tremendously powerful tactical game that fans of war games and strategy will love.”

So yeah, that happened. Look, I'm willing to give the MOBA version a chance but my heart was so set on a gigantic large scale real time strategy. I ... I just need some space Trion Worlds.

News::Speculation Blizzard All-Stars Cinematic Teaser or Gameplay Demo in the Oven?

Blizzplanet speculates whether the Blizzard All-Stars cinematic teaser or gameplay demo is currently in development by Blizzard Entertainment to show off at the upcoming BlizzCon 2013 to be held on November 8-9. Back in March, Battlestar Galactica actress Tricia Helfer (Kerrigan) posted a Youtube video to discuss her latest works. She mentions her work on StarCraft II: Heart of the Swarm and another game she can't talk about and teased. Three months later, on June 12, actor Robert Clotworthy (Jim Raynor) tweeted he was at the voice over recording room with the "Bourbon Cowboy". The "Bourbon Cowboy" is a well-known nickname of Chris Metzen (Blizzard Senior VP of Creative/Story Development). Considering StarCraft II: Heart of the Swarm launched March 12, and Legacy of the Void is barely in production the only possible game Kerrigan and Jim Raynor voice over could be used is Blizzard All-Stars.
