News::Xbox Live Gold memberships cost the same on Xbox One
In a letter from Microsoft's Marc Whitten summing up much of what was disclosed about the Xbox One today ahead of E3 proper, one tidbit stuck out. Going forward into the new console generation, Microsoft will, for better or worse, not alter the price of Xbox Live Gold.
It'll be $5 per month as usual for online gaming and the like. Yeah, we probably all saw that one coming. At least it's not a price increase which, wow, I just typed that out.

News::iOS 7 unveiled, coming later this Fall
Today while Microsoft was hard at work getting info out for the Xbox One, Apple held a conference of their own, and unveiled the newest iteration of the iOS family -- iOS 7. Billed as the "biggest change since the original iPhone," it seems as if iOS 7 will be completely changing the interface.
Firstly, the lock screen will be different, in favor of a sleeker overall design for text and icons, which gives the screen more room to work with. Apps like Weather will now animate, and things like text messages will now appear flatter than normal, and sleeker. Folders have been updated to accommodate pages within them, and the Mail App can be accessed on the lock screen, among other improvements.
New features will also be on the way, including a Control Center that allows you to change crucial settings, as well as "Intelligent Scheduling" for your calendar, a Safari update, a better Siri, and an improved Photo App. The update is set to drop this fall, but intrepid developers can access it now.

News::Zoo Tycoon returns for Xbox 360 and Xbox One
Huh? Zoo Tycoon is coming back? It wasn't mentioned during Microsoft's E3 press conference, but apparently a new installment in the series is headed to both Xbox 360 and Xbox One. The video above was posted on the official Xbox YouTube channel today.
This new game is said to have "all your favorite zoo animals available for a new level of up close and personal interactions with the animals and zoo, and with intuitive controls and fun tutorials that are enjoyable for players of all ages."
My guess is that it'll be heavily Kinect-based -- at least the up-close interactions, anyway. I adore Zoo Tycoon, so here's hoping it's not a total departure. The description does mention "creating," "customizing," and "building." I like the sound of that.

News::Crimson Dragon trailer reveals huge bosses, new areas
During the Microsoft E3 press conference, there were a few titles that Microsoft lightly touched on, Crimson Dragon being one of them. In this new trailer, you can enjoy all of the gravity-defying, Dragon strafing action you can handle from the mind of Yukio Futatsugi.
Along with those aerial acrobatics, you can also enjoy some of the nastier beasts that you will get to tangle with. Seeing this trailer just fills me with the nostalgic feeling of playing Panzer Dragoon for the Saturn at my local Toy 'R Us.

News::Everything that happened at the Microsoft E3 Conference
It was a pretty eventful day for Microsoft. After showing next to nothing game related at their Xbox One reveal event, all eyes were on MS to deliver something substantial. Depending on your taste in games, I'd say they accomplished that.
With big multiplatform reveals like Metal Gear Solid V and The Witcher 3, and major exclusives like Dead Rising 3, Killer Instinct, Forza 5, and Titanfall, the mass market shooter fans out there will have lots of opportunities to spend their cash on the Xbox One.
Was the event enough to satisfy the droves of gamers who are angry at the console's DRM policies and major blow to the used games market? Probably not. But if you're talking pure games, I'm sure some of you out there are already sold.
