News::How Crysis 3s Psycho Scan Mesh Was Too Much For Current Gen Game Engine

"As games become more and more photo-realistic, the ability to accurately model and animate faces - be they humans, beasts or otherworldly creatures - remains as strong as ever. The technologies have advanced significantly since the old days of pre-rendered CG, as developers are employing tools like Faceware to bring facial animation and the emotions that come with it into the game."

Chad from We Got This Covered wrote: In order to get a new sporting venture off of the ground, one must put in an almost unimaginable amount of legwork. Even then, theres no guarantee that all of the hard work will pay off, with multi-million dollar television contracts, star personalities and incredible amounts of fans. News::Sega will have Sonic Lost World, Castle of Illusion at E3

Sega's bringing five announced titles to E3 2013 and the big one is undoubtedly Sonic Lost World . It's especially weird for me to say that having played few if any modern Sonic titles outside of the wonderful All-Stars Racing Transformed , which probably shouldn't even count. But Tony is into it, so that's a good enough sign for me.

E3 will also be a chance to hear more about the revamped Castle of Illusion that'll -- fingers crossed! -- live up to expectations. For strategy players, Sega intends to show off more from the long-awaited Total War: Rome II and Company of Heroes 2.

And then there's The Cave , which had me confused until I noticed that this is the upcoming mobile version of the Ron Gilbert/Double Fine adventure title. Nice little lineup!

News::New Thief trailer emerges from the shadows

We know we'll be seeing more of Garret's next-gen return at E3 but until then, here's a new trailer to get you hyped up for the return of the Thief series. It's got exactly what you'd expect: lots of darkness, lock picking, and plenty of gold and jewels to be plundered.

There's still a lot of things I want to know about the new Thief game; is this a quasi reboot? Garret asks if we missed him and information suggestions he's been away from The City for a while now. In a post-Assassin's Creed/Dishonored world, what will Garret's movement and traversal gameplay be like? Will there be anything in the new game that will reach the heights of the Cradle? I suppose I'll only find out once I play it.

News::The Swapper Review (PC) | CriticalIndieGamer

A juxtaposition of emotions washed over me whilst playing The Swapper; the unbridled joy of solving a seemingly impossible puzzle delicately balanced with the gloomy, almost melancholic atmosphere of my decaying surroundings. It is an emotional state that doesnt quite subside throughout the duration of the game. Hinging progression on the creation and sometimes, the sacrifice - of duplicates of the protagonist creates a bitter-sweet moment that few games can rival.

News::Ginx- Metro: Last Light Review

Ginx:The world of Metro was first written into being by Dimitri Glukovsky in his novel Metro 2033, and adapted into a complex but flawed first person shooter by developers 4A games. Now, Metro Last light picks up where it left off, following the story of young ranger Artyom once more. For the first hour newcomers will be playing catch up, as they begin to understand the politics, people and stations of the metro but once they are immersed in this dense world, there will be no escape. Its a plot that ranges in quality of writing and clarity, but in atmosphere and detail its unbeatable. Showing the kind of maturity that few games ever reach, its portrayal of the dangers of extreme ideologies, and the atrocities that man is able to commit in the name of ignorance is startlingly well observed.

It isn't often that a developer works in tandem with the modding community to deliver a product, but that's exactly what happened with Tripwire Interactive's Rising Storm, the follow-up standalone expansion for Red Orchestra 2: Heroes of Stalingrad .

News::These Sonic Lost World videos have got an attitude

We got a look at the trailer for the upcoming Sonic Lost World , but now you can feast your eyes on three whole levels and the 3DS version, compliments of a video preview from IGN. You're basically getting a full look at the game here, with almost thirty minutes of footage total -- in short, it's like Mario Galaxy meets Sonic.

If the 3DS version is your huckleberry, there are three videos below for it as well. I have to say, although this is typical "Sonic Cycle" fashion wishful thinking, that Lost World looks great. Asian sensation Adam WarRock is a pretty chill dude. Our own Tara Long of course loves him to pieces, but it was I who managed to score a brotastic fist bump at last year's Nerdapalooza in Orlando. He's so skilled, he can turn literally anything into hip hop -- hell, he made an entire EP based on the mockumentary show Parks and Recreation ! How does he do it?

Adam has offered a new song for exclusive download on Destructoid. Using the beat from the Raz Fresco track "Phony Ones," he whipped up "Basic Braining," an homage to the other Raz, star of Double Fine's Psychonauts. News::State of Decay Review | GameRevolution

GR: When will the zombie craze end? Avid GameRevolution readers know full well that I absolutely loved Telltale's The Walking Dead, but what may not be readily apparent to everyone is that my affinity toward that five-episode game experience had nothing to do with an interest in the zombie apocalypse, despite the fact that I also happen to enjoy the AMC television series. What truly sucked me into that experience was its well-crafted narrative and memorable characters. While Undead Lab's third-person, action-heavy XBLA title State of Decay may feature zombies, it lacks the aforementioned elements that drew me into the first season of TWD.

News::Indie game Race the Sun gets a multiplayer update

Developer Flippfly is still hard at work with the indie game Race the Sun , and progress seems to be coming along nicely. The newest self titled "experiment" for the game is a relay mode, which is basically a multiplayer of sorts. After death, you can press the "share" button to initiate a relay through a hyperlink.

You can share this hyperlink with anyone, which offers private play sessions or public sessions (sharing over social media). The "relay" itself differentiates from the core game by allowing players to alternate areas of increasing difficulty, which crescendos into a more intense run for a combined "team" score of up to four players. If you have the beta, you can access this free update now.

If you're interested, the blog post that explains the relay system also a bit of developer insight as to how hard it is to update, develop, and experiment with your game with a two man team.

Capcom has unveiled new footage of the upcoming Resident Evil Revelations DLC characters Lady Hunk and Rachel Ooze in the form of two trailers. You'll get an extensive look at them in action, doing their thing exclusively in the game's Raid Mode, which basically means you'll just watch them shoot up a bunch of monsters.

The DLC will launch on June 11th on PS3, Xbox 360, and PC, and on the Wii U on June 12th for $2.99 per character. All of the game's add-ons are brand new, as the 3DS game had absolutely no DLC to speak of. The designs themselves are...weird to say the least. But extra Raid Mode/Mercenaries characters are always a plus for me given the variety of loadouts and gameplay styles, so I'm fine with it.

News::LeBron James crowned as NBA 2K14 cover athlete

2K Sports is still chugging with the successful NBA 2K franchise, and for its next entry, NBA superstar LeBron James will be gracing the cover. The ever polarizing LeBron is pretty much a no-brainer for any cover after legitimizing his career with last year's playoff win, and it looks like him and the Miami Heat are poised to possibly win another very soon.

As a Laker's fan (I know, I know) I'm a bit bitter at this year's NBA season, but hey, Kobe's been on the cover of these games so many times I've lost count.
