News::PAX Prime: Adult Swim Booth Showcased Several Unique Games | TwoDashStash

Kyle Arsenault from TwoDashStash writes: Adult Swim Games had a pretty awesome booth at PAX Prime this year where they were able to showcase some interesting games. I was able to get my hands on Super Comboman, Westerado: Double Barrelled, and Rain World and get a good preview of what each one had to offer. I had a good amount of playtime with three of Adult Swims upcoming games, and while there were a few rough edges to each, I am definitely aware of their sheer potential.

News::Train Fever Review | Saving Content

Excerpt: "The world of Train Fever updates with the times, buildings will rise and fall, towns will expand and segregate by industrial, residential, and commercial in a very naturalistic way. Sadly, the train stations do not. You have to go and manually bulldoze them, and rebuild them to be technologically relevant. Its not a huge task, but by the time you have to make these type of upgrades, you are managing multiple towns, lines, and railways that this level of micromanaging becomes simply unenjoyable."

Welcome to part 4 of Investing In Video Games. In parts 1 through 3, we covered the 5 basic investment rules, a few pointers on portfolio management, how to select a discount broker for trading, and some basic strategies for valuating stocks. We did not cover the section on options because the subject is somewhat complex. There are many professionals working in the financial industry that still do not understand option contracts, so do not feel discouraged if the concepts do not sink in right away after reading this article. That said, to succeed at making a lot of money, it is important to learn how to use the tools available, and options are a useful tool. Learning how to use them effectively (not just for gambling), will result in significantly more successful long term performance. Since this particular lesson is more complex than others, we will keep this article 'on point' to give the reader time to digest the information.

I sometimes forget just how crazy Doom modders can get. Here's a firm reminder.

This is a total-conversion mod by DooMero that, well, you see ... it's the Donkey Kong Country experience rebuilt in GZDoom. Which is to say it's a platformer using sprites and music from the SNES trilogy, not some half-assed first-person shooter with Kremlings running around.

To be clear, this doesn't look particularly fun, but I'm impressed all the same. Confused and impressed. Instructions are included in the YouTube description. Download over here.

"Hello Games debuted No Man's Sky at the Spike VGX Awards 2013. It's hilarious when one looks back on it, primarily because the VGX was an utter cringe-fest and also because of the game's subsequent impact. We didn't know it at first but No Man's Sky would slowly ramp up its scale until it was re-revealed at Sony's E3 presser and confirmed for the PS4 (along with PC). The absence in between wasn't due to any confusion or re-working of the core concept - on the contrary, Hello Games suffered from flash floods destroying the majority of its office, forcing a relocation and subsequent rallying of development."

News::Among the Sleep - PC Review | Chalgyr's Game Room

Chalgyr's Game Room writes: It was a quiet starlit night and all was quiet in the house. PY and his better half set themselves up at the third desk that faces the TV in the study directly and turned off the lights leaving nothing but a tiny nightlight in the hallway that barely makes it into the room. Ready to start... they load the game. Among the sleep starts off with your second birthday as your mother has made you a cake and uses the choochoo method to make you eat it. This is where everything starts to head downhill. A knock at the door. A look of horror on her face. Her leaves you in your high chair as she answers it. Theres a bit of screaming, a bit of screen blurring, and then she comes back with a box. She takes a quick look inside, decides it happens to be bedtime after only one bite of cake! The travesty! Which she then brings you into your room and puts you in your playpen as the phone rings. Among the Sleep starts here.
