News::Rayman Legends is exclusive to the Wii U in Japan

It feels like forever ago when console fans young and old were arguing over Ubisoft's decision to delay the Wii U version of Rayman Legends to port it to other consoles. But here we are on the eve of Legends' release, and it's actually quite good, and on multiple platforms for everyone to enjoy.

But that apparently isn't the case in every region, as Nintendo themselves are publishing the game on the Wii U in Japan as an exclusive. I'm currently enjoying this game as we speak, and the Mario and Luigi costumes were a nice touch.

News::King of Fighters XIII extends its Steam beta

King of Fighters XIII is finally coming to Steam on September 13th, and if you're a part of the beta, you can now enjoy your extended testing period until September 6th. A change of plans has occurred access wise, and now anyone who pre-orders the game can access the beta -- nice! If you want a chance at a key without buying the game, check out the King of Fighters Facebook page over the course of the next few days.

It took me a while to come around to it, but King of Fighters XIII is a massive step up from the disappointing XII , and I really enjoy it to this day. If you haven't played it yet and enjoy good fighting games, consider at least picking it up on a Steam sale.

News::Can Reaper of Souls Save Diablo 3? | Game Front

Game Front: "Diablo 3 wasnt the success Blizzard or its fans hoped for. But Diablo 2 didnt hit its stride until its expansion, Lord of Destruction. Could the same be true for Diablo 3? The first of two planned expansions, Reaper of Souls, was revealed at Gamescom last week. While many former fans of the series have written the third installment off long ago, those who stuck with it over the past year know that Blizzard has been actively working to improve the game. The Diablo 3 of today is a better game than on release day, but if it is to have the longevity of Diablo 2, a lot more work needs to be done. New Game Director Josh Mosqueira, taking over the role from Jay Wilson, seems to have a keen eye for whats wrong with Diablo 3."

I'm not crazy about Knack in general (the art style is a bit too bland for me), but I'll definitely be checking it out around the PS4's launch for sure. In the video, Cerny notes that Knack's higher difficulties are actually a challenge, which gives me hope that it'll be more than just a quick five hour "one and done" type of game.

News::Europa Universalis IV review | Thunderbolt

Nick Horth, Thunderbolt writes: Europa Universalis IV puts you at the reigns of an entire nation, and charges you with taking care of everything from wars to theological doctrine to trade embargoes. The depth of control and choice given here is nothing short of remarkable. Nearly every conceivable way to rule is catered for, from Napoleon-style military expansion to the more insidiously evil colonialism that we Brits were so bloody good at. Want to pull your British troops out of Europe and focus on exploration of the new world? You can do it. Rather play as landlocked Poland, and build a force of diplomats and spies to undermine your enemies? No problem. These options, combined with the utterly dizzying amount of countries available to play, essentially make EUIV endlessly replayable, providing you can master it.

A couple days ago the policies published for the usage of Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn copyrighted and trademarked materials made the headlines as they prevented users to monetize video on YouTube and streaming services like Twitch.tv, effectively causing an uproar within the "let's play" community, similar to what happened with Nintendo a few weeks back. We haven't seen a whole lot of footage for Batman: Arkham Origins Blackgate , that Vita and 3DS spinoff that's launching alongside of the console versions of Arkham Origins , but today you can get a pretty solid glimpse at the bulk of what it has to offer through the above video.

While the gameplay doesn't blow me away at all, I'm loving the visual novel style delivery (if that's not Ashley Wood it sure looks like it), and I think it perfectly suits the portable platform. I wonder how the 3DS and Vita versions will compare, or if there will be any sacrifices made to comply with the limitations of Nintendo's portable.
