News::OC ReMix is back with BadAss: Boss Themes: Volume II

A follow-up album to 2011's BadAss: Boss Themes by OC ReMix has landed, and it's just the continuation of that concept I was hoping for. And by that I mean it's got an arrangement of the incredible Baby Bowser theme that plays during the final battle in Yoshi's Island. Eff yes.

Other games featured include Splatterhouse 3, Demon's Crest, Conker's Bad Fur Day (Can you guess which song?), and Kirby 64. As with other collaborative OC ReMix efforts, BadAss: Boss Themes: Volume II is completely free to download. The work ethic of the site and its contributors is as impressive as ever. Here's the official torrent for the album. Go listen!

It is one of our most important inputs while playing, and yet is different with every single game we play. T SameSens aims to fill this void that has been in PC Gaming for a long time. Mouse sensitivity is one of the most important parts about our gaming setups, and yet every game engine treats it differently, along with other complications such as your mouses DPI setting, and your windows settings.

News::The free PlayStation app will be worth getting

We've heard a little about Sony's upcoming PlayStation app before. The European PlayStation Blog has a bit more to go on and high-resolution screens of the free iOS and Android application which offer a clear look at the user interface. The big draw here is the ability to buy PS4 games online and have those download on your console straight away.

Other features include Trophy comparisons, viewing friends' activity -- even live-streamed PS4 games -- sending text and voice messages, and second-screen functionality, in some cases.

Worldwide Studios president Shuhei Yoshida says that games like Battlefield will have their own dedicated app, and that's fine. "But smaller developers can use PlayStation App to connect to PS4 and load an application, like drawing software for example, so that you don't have to download and install a specific app on your smartphone. It's open to all PS4 developers to use."

News::Dragon Age: Inquisition first look on returning characters and open world fortresses | PCGamer

Dragon Age has never had the same sense of direction as Mass Effect. Its sci-fi stablemate was a point-to-point race through a single narrative, escalating in scale as success translated into publisher support. Dragon Age: Origins was, in many ways, the last game from pre-EA BioWare, an oldschool fantasy RPG that grew organically over a protracted development period. Its popularity seemed to catch the studios new publisher off-guard, leading to a sequel that while it retained much of its predecessors soul lost all of its scope.

News::Legend of Zelda producer wants to uproot series tradition

Legend of Zelda producer Eiji Aonuma seems to have radical ideas. As radical as you might expect from Nintendo, anyway. In an interview with 4Gamer, translated by Siliconera, Aonuma explained the heavily reported mistranslation that left many thinking he had become "tired of making Zelda games."

When I say I’m tired, I’m not talking about making Zelda, but rather, the same constituent that has been used to make Zelda up until now. While on the subject, in regard to how we’ve always done things the traditional way until now: 'Why does it have to be traditional?' That’s the question I’ve been asking myself. If we don’t change that, we can’t make something new

As not much of a Zelda fan, I find myself asking that question, too. Thankfully, Aonuma said his future productions (A Link Between Worlds and the upcoming Wii U Zelda) would be influenced by what he learned making Wind Waker HD, the HD version of the best title in the franchise. Of course, even that then devolves to iteration and repetition.

"Something that is traditional is in a sense often something that copies previous works, so if you continue doing that, it gradually takes away from its uniqueness," Aonuma explained. "Having someone think ‘Huh? Is this Zelda?!’ at first, then ‘Oh, it is Zelda,’ is what we’re going for. Something that wouldn’t make it matter whether Link or Princess Zelda appear in it or not. Something where it wouldn’t even matter if Zelda is actually a princess, or not."

I still want a gender swapped Legend of Zelda, or something in that vein. It seems like Aonuma wants something different, too. Do you?
