News::rFactor 2: More Historical Content Coming

Image Space Incorporated released three new renders plus a lot of new information about upcoming historical content for their popular PC simulator. The developers from Ann Harbor seem to have a crush on historical racing content (who doesnt?) as they are planning to enrich the simulator with even more classic vehicles besides the cars that are already available for current owner of rFactor 2 such as the classic open wheelers and legendary tracks from the 60s such as the challenging version of Spa-Francorchamps, the 10K layout of Autodromo di Monza and the narrow streets of Monaco.

News::Sid Meier's Civilization V: Brave New World | GameGrin

Sid Meier's Civilization V has consistently provided an intriguing mix of old fashioned and modern post-launch content. While small DLC like civ and map packs have trickled out over the years, Firaxis have now also released a total of two larger expansions. Last year's Gods and Kings was a good addition to the game that implemented some must have game elements, as well as some fun scenarios. This year's expansion, Brave New World, looks to do the same.

News::Review: Nascar 2013 | OnlySP

OnlySP: Im a fan of racing games, Im a fan of coming in first after a couple laps on the track, I am now a fan of NASCAR The Game: 2013. The game is so simple and yet has so much to offer, most notably a lot of enjoyment and a level of addiction that comes with winning races. This is my first time playing a Nascar related game and I was surprised by how much fun I ended up having, dinner sat in the kitchen getting cold as I finished my 30 lap race, albeit in 12th place.

News::Rely On Horror: Lost Planet 3 What we know so far

Around a year or so ago, Capcom announced the third entry to the super-fun, StarShip Troopers meets Bionic Commando series, Lost Planet. The franchise has dabbled between being a Monster Hunter style game, and a full-blown co-op action fest, borrowing influences from other games like Gears of War 2 and Resident Evil 5. The second games tagline was Kill BIG, inspiring a sort of epic monster safari. However, when Lost Planet 3 was announced, Capcom made it very clear that the third installment had chosen to take inspiration elsewhere, mainly survival horror games- sighting Dead Space as one of them. - See more at: http://www.relyonhorror.com/in-depth/lost-planet-3-what-we-know-so-far/#sthash.npbzTdQS.dpuf

News::Review: Rugby Challenge 2 | OnlySP

OnlySP: Rugby Challenge 2 is the type of game that only a fan of the sport can fully appreciate. Thats not to say you cant have some fun in the game, but to fully appreciate everything the newest entry in the series has to offer, it would help to know something about the sport and how it is played beforehand. All that said, I am not one of those people, this was my first introduction to the European sport. But I did have some fun with it.

News::Rogue Legacy Review | GamingBolt

"In the past, rogue-like experiences have never been quite my thing. My inner child cringes at the thought of a perma-death scenario in games like Diablo, and no amount of anime moe goodness seen in like say, Izuna: Legend of the Unemployed Ninja, is good enough to hold me for too long."

News::Weekly Digital Roundup: Cheers chummer, my favorite too.

"uly 25, 2013 was the moment that many cyberpunks and Shadowrun fans have been waiting for: Shadowrun Returns is finally available on Steam and as a DRM-free version for backers. Thankfully, the game isnt a pile of drek, scoring some decent 7 9 scores. From the limited time Ive had with it, it hearkens back to the fantastic isometric, turn-based games of yore, while incorporating a well-written story and some finely-drawn environments. If youve ever played Fallout or the SNES and Genesis Shadowruns, then this game is for you. For other things Steam, theres an early access beta for Mercenary Kings, which you should totally keep your eyes on, and if you feel like youve had a void in your life thats yearning for DLC for a movie, theres bonus DLC for Indie Game: The Movie out there. Youve read that correctly." - Patrick Kulikowski

News::Xbox One and Fez 2: The best and worst of weeks for the games industry

XMNR: Today is Sunday, July 28 and looking back on the past week seems to perfectly highlight the best and worst of the games industry. The week brought another win for gamers with another reversal of an Xbox One policy and a loss with the cancellation of Fez 2 and the exit of an indie developer from the industry that shows the ugly side of gaming when basic civility is discarded in favor of edginess.

Rovios series serves as an envoy for the game industry, an app that people who dont play games will happily while away their commuting hours with, but one that has also found a home on the phones of thousands of console gamers. News::New Releases this week | July 29th - Aug 4th 2013

Releases this week include a Call Of Duty wannabe, a HD remake of a 90s classic, an unacceptably hard platformer and a cute baby eating rice. With the next seven days being so light on releases, it feels like the middle of summer oh wait it is. Pikmin 3 may just be the cream of the crop from this bunch, although the Superfrog HD remake probably has me more excited than I should be. As always this list was correct at time of publishing. News::Freedom Fall Review | GameCloud

GameCloud - "Ultimately, Freedom Fall is a fun little adventure, and it shows off some really interesting ideas when it comes to exploring new ways to deliver a platforming experience. The artwork and visual design are right up there with other well known indie titles such as Bastion, and the way the narrative plays out is unique, with the majority of the games storytelling being delivered through writing on the walls. I dont personally think the soundtrack has the potential to define its creativity, but the vision behind this game shows the potential of a studio that is not yet well known. This is a game that we could recommend to pretty much anyone, and its already available on the PC via Desura, iOS/Android and the Ouya. Its definitely not going to put you out of pocket and considering the Ouyas underwhelming library in particular, it is an absolute must play on that system. In Burden, you are instructed by the gods to defend mysterious giants from the armies trying to bring them down. In order to do so, you must utilise the glowing points on the creatures bodies to create defence mechanisms.
