News:: Fus Ruh Roh Dah: One of the biggest Skyrim mods won't come to PS4

It begins.

Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim: Special Edition has a big 'ol caveat on PS4 -- mods using outside assets are not supported. It's a big leg up for the PC and Xbox One edition, as they can rework some of the biggest adventures for the new version and move them right on over. That includes Falskaar, a gigantic user created adventure with a new zone, characters, dungeons, and a questline -- all in, it's roughly 20 hours for roughly 600 MB of space.

Man, Sony is really screwing up lately. Microsoft had to make some moves because it was so woefully behind in the console race, but opening up its network for cross platform play (something that could make more of an impact if Nintendo gets on board with the Switch), flipping the switch for backward compatibility, and now full mod support -- these are great pro-consumer options.

Falskaar [Bethesda.net] Thanks Jeff!

News:: BioWare has something up its sleeve for this year's N7 Day

In the Mass Effect community, BioWare celebrates a holiday that it calls "N7 Day" on November 7. N7 is the highest level of special forces proficiency in Mass Effect's Systems Alliance military; November starts with an "N," and November 7 is the seventh day of the month. It makes plenty of sense.

This N7 Day might be more special than some in recent memory. BioWare is shipping Mass Effect: Andromeda next spring and we still don't know all that much about the game. Details are especially scarce on the multiplayer front, and that seems to be what this N7 Day is geared toward.

This teaser trailer urges people to sign up for The Andromeda Initiative, which is the game's official newsletter. It says that those who do "will be among the first contacted to receive critical mission information, special training opportunities, and will also be eligible for reward upon program completion." Most importantly, "orientation begins on November 7."

"Special training opportunities" seems like something that could very feasibly be video game marketing-speak for a multiplayer beta. If so, we'll find out next week. But, those who would be interested in the event that this hypothetical becomes a reality would do good to sign up just in case.

But, it's all conjecture for now. Something Mass Effect-related is happening on November 7 -- that much we can be sure of. Whatever it is, it'll probably be the most notable N7 Day of the past four years.

Four years after the release of Journey, thatgamecompany has begun taking the wraps off their next project. News:: Journey developer shares teaser image for its next game

Many Americans most closely associate the month of November with Thanksgiving -- that holiday where you give thanks. Journey developer thatgamecompany seemingly finds this month an ample opportunity to focus on the "giving" part instead.

This morning, thatgamecompany shared a teaser image for its next project. It's simply a candle using its flame to light another candle. It's captioned "a game about giving."

It's scant to be sure, but most won't necessarily need more right now. With Journey being as revered as it is (it won 6 of the 11 categories at the 2013 GDC Awards), thatgamecompany doesn't need to sell itself. That'll come naturally. In fact, we probably shouldn't expect much of a marketing cycle at all. With games like this, less is usually more.

News:: Dragon Quest will celebrate its 30th anniversary in December

Dragon Quest is an institution in Japan. A 30 year institution actually. Although the west doesn't get every game right away, in Japan, a DQ release is a holiday to be celebrated. It's personal for me too -- Dragon Warrior was my first RPG, before I even set foot in the world of Final Fantasy.

There are tons of little stories like that, which is probably why Square Enix is holding a 30 year bash on NHK General TV in Japan on December 29. It'll feature series composer Koichi Sugiyama and creator Yuji Hori, and will touch on Dragon Quest XI as well as provide a retrospective of sorts, in addition to a segment that answers fan submitted questions.

While the US is getting more stuff like eSports being broadcasted on major networks, I'd still love to see more of these types of programs at some point.

News:: Abstract platformer Bound looks astonishing in VR

This weekend marked my first time going through Bound, a surreal dancing-centric platformer from Plastic and Sony, and what a trip it was. I had only ever seen screenshots and a couple of early trailers, so it was surprising to find out what this game is actually like and how wonderful it looks in VR.

Bound is much more experimental than I had expected, both in terms of the story presentation (there's an interesting "real-world" element about a woman's troubled childhood) and its mechanics.

This is a nonviolent game in which you can and will dance -- rather beautifully, I might add! -- to ward off geometric dangers. There's also platforming, to be sure, but Bound is more about navigating twisting landscapes and taking in your shape-shifting surroundings than nailing tricky jumping sequences (though there are a few of those). It reminded me of an interactive art exhibit in that way.

News:: A family oriented Sonic movie from the director of Deadpool is a thing that might happen

Did anyone want a Sonic movie? Maybe the droves of kids who are born into the series, replacing the adults who swear off of it, do. Someone at Sony thought it was a good idea too, as Sony Pictures is planning a Sonic film.

According to the Hollywood Reporter, Deadpool director Tim Miller is in, along with Blur Studio's Jeff Fowler. This move comes directly after Miller stepped away from the Deadpool sequel allegedly due to creative differences with Ryan Reynolds, possibly because Miller wanted to make it more of an action flick than a comedy (if that's the case, good work Ryan). This project will of course be more family friendly, and will be a...wait for it...CGI/live action hybrid like the Smurfs series.

If Jaleel White isn't available, I'd take Roger Craig Smith for Sonic.

News:: All the Infinite Warfare pre-order deals for Friday's release

The newest Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare will take a giant leap - into space. Sure the trailer kinda got overshadowed by Battlefield 1's successive announcement - but that game has now been released and it's so yesterday.

So back to the latest and greatest (or at least what Activision is hoping for). For the COD fans (and there are millions of you), if you do decide to part with some pre-purchase dollars there are some decent deals to be had on Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare from gift card bonuses to straight up discount on Friday's big release.

For those unaware, there's a twist with Infinite Warfare "Legacy Edition" which includes a copy of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered. Priced $20 more, you'll receive both Infinite Warfare and a remastered copy of one of the most popular titles in the franchise. The bad news is you can't buy Modern Warfare Remastered individually - and because of this the Legacy Edition will draw some eyeballs no matter what.

Other incentives includes Season Pass Day 1 bonuses such as 10 rare supply drops for launch day (November 4th) - plus 1,000 bonus salvage credit to craft new prototype weapons.

Which edition you buy will be how much your willing to spend. Below you'll find all the decent and current Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare deals.

Infinite Warfare PC/Steam Deals

Infinite Warfare Xbox One Deals

Note: Release day delivery deal from Microsoft ends on 11/1 at 10 AM Pacific.

Infinite Warfare PS4 Deals

Here's a quick low-down. PC Gamers can head over to GMG to catch a 15% discount on any edition of the game (all Steam keys). Conversely console gamers have more choices from Microsoft Store to Best Buy as options to get a $10 gift card for pre-ordering - or in the case of Best Buy $10 worth of My Best Buy Rewards points.

For console gamers opting to go with Best Buy, you'll be asked at checkout to join their Gamers Club Unlocked program ($30 for 2-years). If you sign-up you get 20% off immediately on Infinite Warfare and 20% off future pre-orders and new releases.

One thing we should note is that Gamers Club Unlocked only works for physical versions of games, so you will not get a discount on the PS4 download code for the Infinite Warfare Digital Deluxe at Best Buy - though they will still tack on $10 pre-purchase reward.

Infinite Warfare Ultimate vs. Deluxe vs. Standard Editions

Which version of the game you buy should depend on how much you think you'll end up playing the game. If you want to just give online multiplayer a whirl, go with the Standard Edition. However, if you're a hardcore fan, there are advantages to going all the way into the $100 Deluxe territory.

As mentioned already, the "Legacy" edition of the game comes with a copy of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered,. Buying the Legacy of Deluxe Edition's of Infinite Warfare is the only way to get Modern Warfare Remastered in what we suspect is the near future.

Upgrading from Legacy to the even pricier Deluxe gets you the Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare Season Pass bundled in, which is a $50 purchase separately from the $60 game. Thus if you buy the Deluxe Edition at full price you are saving $10 vs. buying the Standard Edition and the Season Pass separately - PLUS you get a copy of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered.

Personally if you really want Modern Warfare Remastered, it looks like going Deluxe is the only way to go. If you're one of those big COD fans that will play the game to infinity and beyond, it seems the Deluxe Edition with everything will be the way to go.

For the rest of us, we'll gauge the game on how many interesting GIF will appear on release week at various social media sites. Now there's a safe barometer, in our humble robot mind.
