News::Plants Vs Zombies: Garden Warfare Xbox ONE Review | RGN

DJ Killzown Jones writes, "Plants Vs Zombies: Garden Warfare is a 3rd Person Action Shooter for the Xbox One, Xbox 360 and PC from PopCap Games. The game is a spin-off of the original Plants Vs Zombies but gives the player full control of each and every Plant and/or Zombies then pits them in a battle for the backyard. Each plant and each zombie are controlled by the left thumb-stick and aim their weapons with the right stick, firing with the trigger and jumping with the A button. Players who stick with one of the four different zombie/plants will upgrade their abilities that can be triggered with the other face buttons and bumpers. These abilities are timed sensitive and once you use them you will have to wait a few seconds to activate them again. The aim in the game is good but spotty at times but you can adjust it any the sensitivity to your liking even on the battlefield. The other controls in Garden Warfare are easy to learn but will take time to finesse to become good over t...

"Mercury Steam surprised the gaming world and Castlevania fans with Lords of Shadow back in 2010 with a bold new look and take on the immensely popular series. The world was larger with grand landscapes, intense action and enormous boss battles rivaling God of War in terms of scope and execution. Mirror of Fate was then released continuing the story line first for the Nintendo 3DS and later for the PS3 and Xbox 360. Is Lords of Shadow 2 a worthy successor to these two excellent titles?" - BootHammer

News::Games of the Generation #4: Mass Effect 2

Well Rendered writes: I'll settle for "writer" now that I've reached the age where rock stars die, but my number one lifetime ambition has always been "starship captain" (number two being "rock star", obviously). The Mass Effect series has done a pretty comprehensive job of letting me live out that fantasy, but it's Mass Effect 2, which casts the player in the role of outlaw on a mission to recruit the galaxy's strongest, smartest, weirdest, and sexiest loners, that really stratched the itch.

News::Games of the Generation #3: Deadly Premonition

There are games that set out to rewrite the rulebook on how interactive narrative works, and there are games that learn from everything that has gone before and push the medium forward yet further. And then there are some games that are so unlike anything that has gone before that it is possible to imagine that while their creators have read enough Wikipedia to learn what a "Video Game" is, they have never actually got as far as playing one. Deadly Premonition, a Twin Peaks-style murder mystery in the sleepy American town of Greenvale, is one such game.

News::Gomo Review | GameCloud

Tom at GameCloud Writes: "Gomo is a fairly short puzzle adventure game that is somewhat light on conventional puzzle solving. However, in saying that, I still found the journey interesting none-the-less, and enjoyed my time with the game. This is mainly due to the random things you discover along the way, and the irrelevant, but funny, background animations. Theres a fair bit of slapstick physical comedy throughout the game in the way Gomo gets about his business, and this kind of humour works especially well with young audiences. Although the game is short and fairly linear, it is definitely worth checking out if you have a few moments to spare, and need a light-hearted distraction."

News::Titanfall review: mech-smashin good, but not perfect | Games in Asia

Titanfall is a fantastic multiplayer game. In fact, its the best first-person shooter on the market right now. And with the addition of the Titans, the parkour, and the minions, it brings a much-needed fresh angle to the genre. If you like multiplayer shooters at all, you will love Titanfall. That said, given the lackluster, basically-just-multiplayer campaign mode, and the fact that there are only five multiplayer modes in the game at all, its hard to argue that Titanfall is worth the $60 it costs new unless you know youre going to be playing it a lot regardless.

News::LocoCycle review | CheatMasters

Avoiderdragon: While most of the games that get tons of exposure are those with serious premises, there are some that are either lighthearted or tongue-in-cheek. They are games that you can laugh at without dampening the experience and actually helps it be better. Of course, they still have to be good to be worth any merit, no matter how funny or quirky it is. Thats what comes into question with LocoCycle, a game that looks like its developers had way too much fun on.

News::South Park: The Stick of Truth | CheatMasters

Avoiderdragon: To think there would be a South Park game thats actually decent, or even a TV/Movie licensed game that is remotely playable. The only South Park games that anyone may remember is that shooter with the cow launcher, but it wasnt anything to write home about. But this South Park game though, for all intents and purposes, is like a milestone in gaming as a title that fans would actually play. South Park: The Stick of Truth may have taken time to be churned out, but the wait was definitely worth it.

Mike at Modern Game Fix - "This isnt something I hope to do often. After playing Titanfall for around 15 hours I need to adjust my score. News::Project Spark Pixel Judge preview

Project Spark is a world-creation game available on tablets and the Microsoft Store for Windows 8. Its clear that the direction that Project Spark is headed in is one where your only limiting factor to what you can create is your imagination, but the game is still in the development process, so bear that in mind if you decide to go through with playing the early access version. These limitations brought along by the beta stage dont diminish how enjoyable the game is in the least - in fact, its still quite a bit of fun to play around with. One of the best parts about the game, and one that sets it apart from a few other world-creation games, is the fact that once youve created a world, you have the opportunity to play in it. Unfortunately, the beta is only available to Windows 8.1 users, which is quite a limiting factor in regards to audience and exposure.
