If you went to a college where people were running around with water guns, you've probably heard of the folk game Assassin. PAX provides another perfect place to play the game, with over 60,000 people in attendance.

News::LEGO The Hobbit Video Game Review | Geekenstein

"As a LEGO veteran, the game took me about 30 hours to complete 100%, but for casual/co-op play, I can imagine it taking much longer. The relative ease of jumping in and out of levels also adds to the already high replay value. Great for the kids, and peppered with plenty of references for keen-eyed adults, LEGO The Hobbit is a fun little gem, though it probably wont be winning awards any time soon." - Christian Mincks of Geekenstein

News::Max Gentlemen (SteamFirst Preview) -Bully PAX East Preview

SteamFirst: On a crowded show floor, there was one unassuming game that consistently drew a crowd at the Indie Megabooth at PAX East: Max Gentlemen. The primary game display, an old school arcade machine, never wanted for new challengers. Suffice it to say, this is the best drinking/hat stacking game and looks to dominate this over-saturated genre.

News::Gamer Mondays: Making a Choice

"The idea of player choice is a grand concept. No longer is the game player just an actor, propelling the narrative forward. With the introduction of choice, the player now has the illusion of being the writer and director as well. However, herein is where the problem lies." - Travis Tucker

News::[IGM] PAX East First Impressions Therian Saga

An MMORPG by name, Therian Saga is a much slower experience when compared to the likes of the industrys heavy hitter, World of Warcraft. But as will soon be explained, this is a conscious design choice that sets the game apart from many other titles that share space in the crowded genre.

We've Already Found The Best Video Game Bug of 2014

There are a lot of questions to be asked here. For one, does Bigby Wolf really expect to recover from his injuries like that? Why is nobody reacting to Bigby? Why is this so goddamned hypnotizing? Is there a way to toggle The Wolf Among Us so we can play the whole game like this?

News::PAX East 2014 Preview: 'The Evil Within' | BlogCritics

BC writes: "At PAX East I was able to sit through a developer-led playthrough of The Evil Within, an upcoming game from Resident Evil creator Shinji Mikami. The game promises to bring the action of the Resident Evil series, but evoke the classic suspense and horror emotions from the early Silent Hill games. Unfortunately based on the preview of The Evil Within it seems they will fail to deliver either experience effectively."

News::Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare adds free Zomboss Down DLC

I'm not sure which alternate dimension Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare came from or how it got here but PopCap's wacky third-person shooter has been a pleasant surprise. Against all odds, the game keeps on giving: another free DLC pack called Zomboss Down is out today, adding eight new characters and the Cactus Canyon map for Gardens and Graveyards mode.

The character level cap has also been increased to level 30, complete with new challenges to conquer, and there are 200+ customization items for the new cast of plants and zombies. Even though the last DLC release was free, I'm still surprised to see this one follow the same plan and PopCap not overwhelm players with microtransactions. Gosh, what a terrific game.

News::Moebius Empire Rising Review A Paranormal Adventure Game I The Koalition

Jasmine Gipson of The Koalition writes: Does History Repeat Itself? Jane Jensen is back; shes known for her Gabriel Knight series and is seen as an adventure game design icon. I put off playing Moebius because I saw a sneak peek in November and was bored out of my mind by the end of the presentation. Her return has been so hyped that I was genuinely nervous that I wouldn't enjoy the game at all and I'd have Jane Jensen fans running after me with pitchforks. Actually, I was nervous because the indie developing house she chose was Phoenix Online Studios

That. That is a big number. I had to turn my phone sideways and everything to work that out. I don't even know how to say it. The staggering figure is the combined souls lost across both 360 and PS3, and the result of some 252, 163, 804 deaths overall.

Genius And His Lego Robot Take Cheating To A New Level

Uli Kilian once set a world record by solving 100 Rubik's Cubes while running a marathon at the same time. So he's smart. And fit. But the smartest thing he's done might have been building a robot to tap his iPad screen in the middle of the night so that he wakes up to a ton of money in a mediocre free-to-play game. Just look at it. Beautiful, right?

News::Make cats have sex in the name of natural selection in Mew-Genics

This Holmes interview with Mew-Genics' Tommy Refenes at its first public showing explains every reason I badly want this game.

Cat animations based on personality sound great. I am already laughing at the mental image of, "dumb cats just fall on the ground." And the notion that you can accidentally condition a cat to be a jerk is great. As Holmes says, there are just so many variables at play with different cat types, AI, and whatnot. I am so excited.

Oh, and there was a bug where the dad cat would try and mate with the kittens as soon as they plopped out. Calm down there, Zeus.
