News::Alien: Isolation, the PC Advantage

Tin Salamunic: AMD has recently joined forces with Creative Assembly to bring PC gamers the definitive Alien: Isolation experience. The PC version offers native support for AMD Eyefinity, 4K Ultra HD, AMD Crossfire and a plethora of DirectX 11 effects specifically fine-tuned for the Graphics Core Next architecture in AMDs new GPUs and processors. What does this mean for the game? Better textures, higher framerate, better lighting, enhanced shadows, better anti-aliasing...the list goes on. I recently reviewed Alien: Isolation on the Playstation 4, and while my score was a high 9/10, the consoles technical shortcomings hurt the overall playthrough on more than a few occasions.

gamrReview's Chris Matulich: "There's definitely plenty to be excited for with Dontnod's second outing, but recent shining examples of the genre like The Walking Dead and The Wolf Among Us have raised expectations, so Life is Strange has a lot to live up to. However, if Dontnod can address the issues on display in the demo, then they could have a special game on their hands come early 2015, which is when the first episode is set to hit digital marketplaces."

News::Sleeping Dogs: Definitive Edition Review | Gamereactor UK

GR-UK writes: "Overall, the Definitive Edition of Sleeping Dogs proves to be a worthwhile update, and an excellent opportunity to rediscover a good game that was unjustly under-appreciated when it appeared for the first time on old-gen consoles. Featuring an intriguing atmosphere and a charismatic protagonist, this new-gen version is a dignified restoration and strengthens the game to the point where it's worth rediscovering, even more so if you didn't sample its delights the first time around. Given its price (in line with similar HD remasters) and the decent amount of content on offer, Sleeping Dogs: Definitive Edition has validated Square Enix's decision to give it the HD once-over."

You play as a typical person with a love of gaming who is somehow able to utilize it to solve the disappearance of their friend. Beyond that, developer 16BitGenocide is fairly sparse on the details of how this all works out."

Coming from a long line of games published by Daedalic that were usually among the second best in this ancient genre is Randals Monday a rather quirky adventure that looks towards the Groundhog Day for inspiration. News::Alien: Isolation in Virtual Reality is Beautiful and Terrifying

Road to VR Alien: Isolation is Creative Assemblys stab at moving a beloved movie franchise into a compelling interactive experience. Early word on the title was that, unlike the execrable Aliens: Colonial Marines before it, Isolation was something special. Whats more, at GDC earlier this year, Oculus proudly showed the triple-A title in a VR enabled version that terrified all who played it. Alien: Isolation was the virtual reality hit of the show and with good reason.
