News::Rascal Riders brings motorcycle combat to all platforms

If I was on the road and a person on a motorbike screamed past me wielding a machete, "rascal" isn't the term I'd use for them. Rascal Riders however is a new project from Polish developers Cameleon Labs that brings the kind of motorbike combat of Road Rash into a futuristic deathsport. Considering the last Twisted Metal game seemed to have tolled the death bell for vehicular combat games, I'm excited to see a title that's looking to deliver some arcade carnage.

Whilst this footage is from a pre-alpha build of the game, Rascal Riders looks like a really fast game. What's interesting is that along with single-player, Cameleon is looking to build a free-to-play multiplayer mode as well.

Even more ambitious is the attempt to make the game totally cross-platform, meaning PC players will be able to fight against gamers playing Rascal Riders on their Android phone. It's a big task and Cameleon Labs has a long way to go on its Indiegogo crowdfunding attempt but this is an interesting project, not like one I've seen on crowdfunding for a while.

News::Gomo Review | Hardcore Gamer

Gomo is an odd little creature that resembles a sack more than any living being. With his big white eyes, thin lines for arms and stitching for a mouth, he serves as quite the unusual hero. Gomo begins slowly. Our protagonist ambles out of bed only to discover aliens have taken his dog for some reason. All of this is conveyed without language and everything proceeds at a snails pace. Gomo feels almost like a foreign film except for the fact that theres no meaning at its core.

News::Super Crate Box is free to download for PS Vita

The latest pair of PlayStation Mobile games to go free as part of Sony's Festive Giveaway are Fuel Tiracas -- which is reaction game described as a mix of Whack-A-Mole, Simon Says, and spinning plates (how does that even work?) -- Vlambeer's hit Super Crate Box.

Chances are you've played it by now as it's been a freeware release for so long on PC, but this specific handheld version of the tightly-designed arcade title is worth getting. I say that as someone who doesn't dislike Super Crate Box on iPhone. It's just not the same, though.

Venture to the PS Mobile section of the PS Vita store to find these free games, or download them for your PlayStation-certified mobile device of choice.

News::Sonic 2 mobile remaster has long-lost Hidden Palace Zone

A remastered Sonic the Hedgehog 2 is launching on Android on December 13. It comes from the team that created the engine used in the excellent Sonic CD port from a few years ago. Even cooler, it will include a finished, playable version of the scrapped Hidden Palace Zone, the remnants of which originally appeared as downloadable prototypes. Now we get the full thing.

The iOS version of the game is also getting a free update that replaces the original port and includes the Hidden Palace Zone.

Certainly something I'd like to see and play on a device that isn't a mobile phone. I guess the best option is controller attachments, unless these somehow play well with touch controls.

News::Diehard GameFAN: Face Noir Review

DHGF: Face Noir is a pretty typical adventure title. It focuses on story over gameplay, is full of fetch quests, and has zero replay value. That being said, it has fun puzzles, interesting characters, and a setting that never seems to get old. I could easily recommend it to genre fans but for one thing. You see, this is the first half of a completed story, and it ends as such. Theres no closure to be had. While it might simply whet your appetite for the forthcoming sequel, it will more than likely just come off as cheap and annoying. If you dig the concept, youre better off just waiting until you can play through the whole story in one go.

News::Law firm launches investigation into EA and Battlefield 4

Were you injured in an accident on the job? Did Battlefield 4 give you incontinence, space measles, or sinusoidal finger? Then you might have a case.

Law firm Holzer Holzer and Fistel, LLC is investigating whether EA claims from June 24, 2013 to December 4, 2013, "regarding the development and sales" of Battlefield 4 and its "impact on EA’s revenue and projects moving forward," "complied with the federal securities laws."

The firm is looking to see if EA's claims about the game during that six month period misrepresent its status in light of major quality issues on release that have necessitated shelving planned DLC in favor of applying patches. Those who purchased stock in the company during the period and suffered losses are encouraged to contact attorney Marshall P. Dees, Esq. at mdees@holzerlaw.com.

News::Use a DualShock, mouse/keyboard, and more on Xbox One

Thanks to the ChronusMAX, Xbox One owners aren't limited to the console's default controller. As the video shows, you can get DualShock 3, DualShock 4, Wii U Pro Controllers, PS3/360 fight sticks, and even mouse and keyboard support on your Xbox One with this controller adapter. And, really, who wouldn't want to use a DualShock 3 forever?

The Xbox One controller is pretty sweet, but not having to retire your expensive fight stick because of incompatibility, or being able to use a mouse and keyboard on the console, is a pretty neat capability. Though the controller adapter might have latency issues, which could hurt its usefulness with fight sticks. Go buy a Killer Instinct fight stick, I guess?

How about a hack for these next gen systems so we can use existing headsets?

The previously announced holiday add-on content for Saints Row IV, How the Saints Save Christmas , has been released along with this delightful trailer which explains the premise. The Batman Begins movie licensed tie-in was passable (and enjoyed marginal success) but was certainly nothing to write home about.
