News::Xbox One's Kinect won't work anywhere but on Xbox One

When Kinect launched for Xbox 360, it was immediately compatible with Windows PCs. When Xbox One's Kinect launches, that won't be the case.

Microsoft confirmed that the Xbox One's Kinect sensor was built specifically with the new console in mind, meaning that it has a proprietary connector that the company does not intend to release a USB adapter for. However, a next-generation Kinect for Windows sensor is in the works that will serve that particular niche.

Honestly, this news isn't particularly surprising. The first Kinect released as a peripheral several years after the Xbox 360. Microsoft intends for the Xbox One's Kinect to be an essential, integrated component of the console. Giving users the option to take it into another room, leaving the Xbox One a useless brick doesn't seem very cohesive to Microsoft's vision.

Leviathyn says: "If theres one title thats touted as a major influence on the way video games are developed today along with garnering universally praise, the name Portal shouldnt surprise anyone. Since its rise to power, the puzzle/platformer genre, rare as it is, have a bar set so astronomically high the only contention possible is attempted by copying Valves formula. News::The Walking Dead: 400 Days an anthology, 'like Ducktales'

The Walking Dead: 400 Days is DLC, meant to hold us over as we wait impatiently for the second season of Telltale's vaunted adventure game series, comprised of five different vignettes, each featuring a different playable character. In this video, Sean Ainsworth, the game's director, and Harrison Pink, one of its two designers, shed a little more light on 400 Days and how it relates to the existing and upcoming seasons.

"The choices that you made in season one will come into play in 400 Days," Ainsworth said, "and then the events of 400 Days may or may not come into play in season two, depending on your choices." A bit vague, but it's to be expected of such a story-heavy game. I've loving the simultaneous Creepshow and Ducktales parallel, though.

If you haven't watched the 400 Days trailer yet, check it out here. The DLC will be available on all platforms season one released on, for $4.99.

News::Nintendo CEO Iwata never said he would resign

The 3DS stumbled out the gate, and only recently has it broken into a decent stride on a worldwide scale. The Wii U, on the other hand, is still languishing as Nintendo places its future prospects on the shoulders of its first-party Fall lineup. In their frustration, fans and shareholders alike have been calling for a change in management, starting with Nintendo CEO Satoru Iwata.

Earlier this year, there was a story in Japanese news outlet ITmedia about how Iwata "implied" that he would resign if Nintendo failed to achieve a ¥100 billion (~$1 billion) operating income in the coming fiscal year. We at Destructoid didn't report this news because Iwata never actually said any such thing. ITmedia was simply trying to read between the lines when Iwata said, "Please understand that [achieving the income goal] is my commitment."

The news spread around the web regardless, and that "implication" was brought up again during an recent investors meeting. Iwata's response was, "I don't recall saying I'd resign." That really ought to be the final word, but we know people won't pipe up about how Iwata needs to hit the road. Still, it's good to know Iwata is determined to right the ship come hell or high water.
