News::Insights Into Planning an Indie Game Kickstarter Campaign Interview with the Hive Jump Team

Today Graphite Lab gave me the pleasure to ask the team some questions regarding their latest Kickstarter campaign for Hive Jump. I would describe the game as a combination between Contra and Starship Troopers. In the game youll get dropped into an alien hive where your objective is to blast your way through hordes of alien bugs to find the queen and take her out. Aside from the game looking incredibly fun, Ive found the Kickstarter campaign to be quite aggressive with goals and rewards spanning various social media platforms on top of the base Kickstarter stretch goals and backer rewards which leads me into my first question.

News::Assassin's Creed Unity Tester Leaks Other Playable Assassins

Reddit user AlphaNumeralBeta, a verified Assassins Creed Unity Tester, has posted a screenshot from the upcoming game. He writes, "What you are seeing is the structured campaign level list. Each level affords a different location such as Ireland during the Great Famine. Each level then has its own assassin for the area. The levels are wholly coopable from the investigation, to the assassination, to the side missions/diversions. Players can either join free roam and accompany you into missions, or you can start a mission via matchmaking".

News::Check out this new Final Fantasy Explorers gameplay video

This new gameplay video of Final Fantasy Explorers has me praying to the ghost of Gunpei Yokoi that Square Enix will localize this game to the U.S.

The gameplay looks to be somewhat like the Monster Hunter series and that is a good thing. The video showcases the warrior, black mage, and monk classes, and confirms that some old friends/enemies are returning -- like Ifrit!

Hopefully the move Square Enix has made with Final Fantasy Type-0 indicates that it's gaining interest in taking more chances in the western market and will release some of their more unique and fun Final Fantasy side-games here instead of just terrible cell phone ports.

If you can't wait what may be three or more years to see if this game is going to be localized, you can import it from Japan after it releases Decemeber 18, 2014.

News::Far Cry 4 directors drew inspiration from Nepalese Civil War

Although the upcoming Ubisoft FPS is set in the fictional Himalayan country of Kyrat, Far Cry 4's directors conducted extensive research on location in Nepal to both research flora and fauna and to interview those who had fought in the Nepalese Civil War, which lasted over ten years.

The directors explained that after conducting interviews with several Nepalese individuals, some of which had defended their country as child soldiers, they decided to alter the direction of the game. Rather than attempting to catalog a historical war, the game tends towards an extreme, almost darkly comic narrative.

Your character will not be a foreigner trying to complete an objective for some shadowy government, but a native who is returning to his land of Kyrat and rediscovering his home. Although there will be quite a bit of poignant expose, the directors seem to be wanting to above all else keep the game fun and not use it as a political soapbox.

News::Nintendo Loses Third Party Staple As 'Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare' Will Skip Wii U

Forbes: "Its been a rough string of headlines for Nintendo as of late, and the company is facing serious trouble trying to hang on to what little third party support the Wii U had at launch. First, it was Ubisoft announcing that despite two different games being released across the two console generations this year, no Assassins Creed title would be released for Wii U in 2014. And now, Activision has revealed that despite a five-platform release including two Xboxes, two PlayStations and PC, Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare will also not come to Wii U."

News::The top 10 bears in videogames! No, not that kind of bear...

[In response to the unexpected influx of fetish posts in our Cblogs lately, Dtoid community blogger bbain shares his own list of manly men you can't help but want to snuggle up with. Want to see your own work appear on the front page? Go write something! --Mr Andy Dixon]

For those of you who don't know, a bear is what the gay community calls a man who is typically large, mature and hairy. There are also cubs, who are typically younger, and otters, who are typically smaller (but still hairy). You might already know this stuff, but I'm actually not sure how well known these terms are outside of the gay community, so maybe this will be news to some of you.

Anyway, I initially wasn't planning on participating in the fetish trend, but I thought the Cblogs could use a healthy dose of masculinity, since all the other blogs so far have featured primarily slender, young women. Personally, I'm more interested in the exact opposite. In fact, my boyfriend even happens to be a bear!

So here is a list of my favorite bears in videogames. Feel free to chime in with some of your own!

CCC Says: "Metro Redux just came out, and it contains one of the best examples of a remake in recent history. That remake is Metro 2033 Redux. Why is Metro 2033 Redux so good? Well, it took Metro 2033 and made us look at it in a new light. First of all, it introduced new gameplay mechanics, like the ability to wipe your visor.
