News:: It's a shoot! How '90s wrestling and Vince Russo mirror today's outrage culture

Compared to most games on the market, Destructoid's c-blogs rarely cover wrestling games ("Probably because there's only one or two of them at any given time," says everyone reading this; to which I say, "You're right, that shut me up pretty quick.")

Though suffice to say, Destructoid's community is fairly familiar with wrestling terms and wrestling culture. For instance, we had a Destructoid championship tournament, and we also had a call for bloggers due to someone's "heel turn." For those not in the know, a "heel turn" is when a good guy suddenly and surprisingly low blows someone out of spite.

News:: Buy more potential marriages with Harvest Moon: Light of Hope's DLC

Natsume Inc. has detailed a selection fo the post-release DLC coming to farming game Harvest Moon: Light of Hope Special Edition, which launches on PS4 and Nintendo Switch later this month.

The four DLC drops start from day one and continue through until July 31. Although there are some tools and decorative items in the mix, as well as some new chapters, there are a helluva lot of "Marriageable Characters" - which just sounds so dang romantic - included across the four packs. A Season Pass will be available for $10.

The DLC drops are as follows: (Descriptions from Gematsu)

News:: Pinball FX3 now runs much better on Nintendo Switch

Zen Studios excellent Pinball FX3 came to the Nintendo Switch in December of last year and unfortunately ran afoul of poor visual clarity when docked, as well as framerate issues when in handheld mode.

At first there was some back and forth over whether Zen were going to be able to fix the situation. But, now, digital pinball players can rejoice, as a new update has rolled out for Pinball FX3 on Switch that bumps the game's resolution to 1080p when docked, as well as ramping the framerate to 60fps when you decide to go portable.

The new update also implements a host of tweaks and bug fixes that were delivered to other platforms in April. You can check out the full patch notes right here. I've enjoyed Pinball FX for many years, having always found its unique and forward-thinking approach to table design fascinating. It's good to hear that now Switch owners can experience the simulator as intended.

News:: New Red Dead Redemption 2 screenshots make me want to ride off into the sunset

Supplementing this week's trailer for Red Dead Redemption 2, Rockstar has a handful of new screenshots depicting the Van der Linde gang. Arthur Morgan and co. may be on the run from federal agents and bounty hunters, but at least they can take in some gorgeous scenery along the way.

Like Red Dead Redemption before it -- and, more recently, Far Cry 5 -- I think I'm most looking forward to just being able to explore nature and take in the sights and sounds at my own pace. Naturally the story will be a big draw as well, but I hope to take my time with this one and make the most of the world. It's not every day we get a new Rockstar Games sandbox to play in, y'know?

I'm also very pleased to see the all-powerful bow and arrow return. Practical or not, I will absolutely stick with that weapon as my mainstay for this or any game if given the chance.

News:: Vampyr gameplay trailer details your nefarious nocturnal activities

Focus Interactive have released a new trailer showcasing the combat of their stylish upcoming action-RPG Vampyr, which launches next month on PC, PS4 and Xbox One.

In the preview, the luckless Dr. Jonathan Reid treads the streets of old tyme London, combating the local citizens and other ungodly monsters who attempt to tear him asunder. Injured, the damned anti-hero stalks and murders a poor woman, her only crime being in the wrong place at the wrong time.

Whilst the combat is instantly familiar-looking to those who've played the Assassin's Creed game, the true test of Vampyr will be in its role-playing elements, as Reid fights to rid himself of his terrible curse, whilst keeping authorities off of his trail. The game will have multiple endings, and states that it is possible to complete without a single kill, although it will make the journey through the night much harder. Victims can even be selected from the townsfolk, allowing Reid to satiate his thirst whilst becoming a sort of "vampire vigilante".

Done well, Vampyr has the potential to be one of the year's sleeper hits. We'll find out once we sink our teeth into it on June 5, when it releases on PC, PS4 and Xbox One.

News:: Recommended Reading: The 'Stories' invasion won't relent anytime soon

Why 'Stories' Took Over Your Smartphone
Ian Bogost,
The Atlantic

Snapchat may have created the monster, but in nearly every social (and some not-so-social) app you fire up, you'll be greeted with a feed of Stories. In fact, Facebook says the format is on pace to be more popular than a primary feed as the preferred way to share updates. The Atlantic explains how the ephemeral format took over your phone and why it isn't going anywhere anytime soon.

News:: Myst maker's Obduction gets PlayStation VR support next week

I originally held off getting Cyan's alien world adventure Obduction knowing I'd much prefer to play the whole thing in virtual reality. It's just one of those games. It has been a not-insignificant wait, but the studio has finished its work on the PlayStation VR update and plans to roll it out next Tuesday, May 8.

"Of course it's the full version of Obduction with all the beauty and intrigue of its alien worlds, including the bonus content that's on the PlayStation version," says Cyan CEO Rand Miller. "And Obduction is one of the larger PS VR experiences, so get ready to explore some crazy-cool spaces for a while."

The standard PS4 version is $30 and owners won't need to pay for the VR update.

News:: Korean publisher announces Brave Neptune for Nintendo Switch

Korean publisher CFK have announced that they will be bringing Compile Heart's action-RPG Brave Neptune to PS4 and Nintendo Switch in Korea on September 29, marking the first time the game has been linked to any platform other than the PS4.

While more information has been forthcoming on the new Nep-Nep title in recent weeks, there has been no confirmation for platforms outside of Sony's black box. According to CFK, it appears that this new entry in the Neptunia series - the first developed in the West - will also reach Nintendo's baby.

In Brave Neptune, Nep and the gang are struck with a mysterious amnesia. Upon meeting each other "for the first time," the crew must battle through a new two-dimensional take on Gameindustri, defeating monsters and mazes. They will be helped out by series sidekick Histoire and will meet new friends and enemies along the way.

News:: The Morning After: Weekend Edition

You made it to right here, Saturday morning. This week, Nintendo faced a patent infringement investigation over its Switch, Sprint and T-Mobile announce they're together, and the notch rears its ugly head again. This time, though, most of us don't mind.
