News::Resident Evil 6 PC Review | Gaming Trend

Gaming Trend: "The problem with Resident Evil 6 is that it doesnt have an identity. It wants to please its survival-horror fanbase, but seems to have forgotten how to walk that fine line between tense action and frustrating challenge. Capcom knows that cover-based shooters sell well, but cant figure out how to mesh that with zombies, who never use cover and dont shoot back. If youre desperate for some gruesome action and you can find it on sale, you might want to pick it up, but as it stands Resident Evil 6 fails because it tries to do everything, and so it ends up succeeding at nothing."

News::The Club retrospective

EuroGamer - Most modern shooters go out of their way to provide a narrative justification for their eight hours of explosions and headshots. In 2008, Bizarre Creation's The Club barely even bothered. An opening cinematic took less than two minutes to introduce you to a cast of eight playable characters and The Club itself, with little time left over to establish your motivation. So instead of narrative, it was the game's mechanics that compelled you kill. And rather than repelling invaders, overthrowing a tyrant, or restoring the honour of your clan, The Club had you killing for points.

News::Battlefield 4 - What we know so far

Battlefield 4 is due out in the last quarter of this year (the shortest odds are currently in October, Battlefields usual release month) and if its half the game that EA are talking it up to be, then itll be a cracker. Of course, dont forget that EA talked up BF3 a lot (which had excellent multiplayer, but a forgettable campaign). This go-around, however, it looks like theyve learned from that experience and have been shaping something substantially more engaging for the next instalment in the venerable series.

Arkham Origins is a rather odd choice for the title of a game that is neither about origins nor Arkham. The game will be a prequel to previous games, with Bruce Wayne already established as the hooded vigilante, and will not be set in Arkham Asylum or Arkham City, but will instead, the developers excitedly explain, be set on the streets of Gotham on the night before Christmas.

News::Why Dominion is better than Summoner's Rift

Dominion is an often overlooked and sometimes even belittled game mode in League of Legends. Summoner's Rift is generally thought of as the default mode/map and is used during competitive League of Legends eSports tournaments. There isn't even a ranked Dominion and even Riot Games has neglected the playlist. For these reasons, some players call Dominion a "noob" game mode, but even with all that working against it, Dominion is still better than Summoner's Rift.
