News::Far Cry 4 Review - 8BitChimp

Jeremy says, "Far Cry 4 is a fantastic game. Though the story may not be the strongest in the first-person shooter genre, the gameplay mechanics, graphics and visuals, location, random antics and (not tacked on) multiplayer makes up for the narratives short comings."

News::Far Cry 4 Review | Progress Bar

The strong writing and performances of the main characters, coupled with a living, breathing, detailed world combine together wonderfully to make for a unique sequel with plenty to discover. Far Cry 4 isnt revolutionary, but its fun: and above all else, you cant ask for anything more.

News::A Bird Story (SteamFirst Review) Not A Toronto Film Festival Finalist

SteamFirst: Right up front, the reader should know: A Bird Story is not a game in the common sense of the word. Much like my previous experience with Sakura Spirit, there isnt any player agency given to deserve a comment. Here you simply control an avatar when the game tells you and follow basic instructions. I knew this going in, but was expecting something more in the line of options as to how the story played out. A more accurate description would be that this was an interactive art piece, one that would have been better served by removing what little interactivity there is and simply telling the story.

News::Company of Heroes 2: Ardennes Assault Review - Digitalchumps

Digitalchumps: "Relic's popular Company of Heroes RTS is back with a new standalone expansion pack that focuses on the Allied war effort during the Battle of the Bulge. Company of Heroes has been a successful PC-exclusive RTS franchise for many years. I remember being at the unveiling at E3 several years ago and always thought the series looked promising, and it wasn't all that long ago that I finally got around to playing CoH2. Impressed, although eventually rediscovering that my type of RTS is of the sci-fi variety (ala Command & Conquer), I didn't stick with it. However, when given the opportunity to review Ardennes Assault, I was looking forward to change of pace and to try my hand at taking on the Oberkommando West across regions of Belgium."

News::XCOM: Enemy Within review - Post Arcade

Post Arcade: "This game was reviewed on an iPad Air 2 running iOS 8.8.1. Regular readers know that I typically spend evenings playing games on my iPad while watching TV with my wife. Weve been binge-watching the The Americans over the last couple of weeks. I love the show whats not to like about cold war spy stories mixed with a bit of 80s nostalgia? but I confess I have no idea whats happened over the last dozen episodes. Thats because I havent been able to pull my eyes away from XCOM: Enemy Within, the new iOS port of an expansion to XCOM: Enemy Unknown, one of the best turn-based strategy games of the last decade."

News::Will Mass Effect 4 go the way of GTA 5 and suffer a huge PC release delay?

Its universally accepted that the Mass Effect trilogy is one of the greatest series of games ever made. Indeed, many lists often place Mass Effect 2 as their greatest game of all time. With Bioware now confirming the beta testing is well under way for Mass Effect 4, and the series having fared so well on the windows platform in the past, surely it would sacrilege for this fourth game to suffer a huge delay between hitting the next gen consoles and getting a PC release much in the same way Grand Theft Auto 5 has. If rumors are to be believed, then this could be a possibility.

News::Lego Batman 3: Beyond Gotham Review - Newgamenetwork

NGN: "Playing Lego Batman 3: Beyond Gotham after Lego Marvel Super Heroes does little to hide the comparative paucity of star power in DCs lineup. Beyond the Batman and Superman universes, youre almost constantly left shrugging your shoulders at the characters on your screen. This is notable from an early cutscene with a selection of naughty Lanterns messing about in space, which will have all but regular DC readers shrugging their shoulders with indifference until the Joker and Lex Luthor show up to add a bit of class to the villains stable."

News::Geometry Wars 3: Dimensions Review - XBA

XBA: On paper, Geometry Wars doesn't exactly sound like a winner. You pilot a little ship shooting various shapes until your hand curls up into an arthritic, dead spider shape. That there in a nutshell is Geometry Wars, but bloody hell it's addictive. Geometry Wars 3: Dimensions takes the 2D template of the previous games and drags it kicking and screaming into the third dimension, meaning all manner of twisted 3D forms to navigate while shooting enemies. It's possibly the toughest in the series yet."

News::Controversy strikes top eSports tournament yet again

The world's largest pro tournament for Counter-Strike: Global Offensive remains steeped in controversy, with tournament officials ordering the replay of a quarterfinal match today until one of the sides forfeited. Fnatic, playing on its home turf of Sweden and one of eSports' top CS:GO teams, faced a nine-round deficit in its showdown with French opponent LDLC, then deployed a boost (in which one player jumps off of another) to reach an unknown map position that offered them a huge advantage. Fnatic prevailed 16-13 and appeared to move on. The two sides had been playing on Overpass, a map released in December of last year (Counter-Strike: Global Offensive launched in August 2012). LDLC filed a complaint about Fnatic's use of the boosting.

News::The case for 30fps PC gaming - Digital Foundry

Eurogamer: "Top-of-the-line enthusiast gaming PCs are built for raw performance, boasting technical specifications with far more horsepower than the Xbox One and PlayStation 4, opening up a wealth of gameplay options unavailable to console owners. If you fancy gaming at 2.5K, or 4K, at 60fps, 120fps or even higher, the PC is the only format with the flexibility and scalability to deliver. But that's not to say that the console-standard 30fps isn't a good fit for certain hardware specs, or specific titles. In a wealth of scenarios, limiting frame-rate can result in a markedly smoother gameplay experience. There's just one problem - only the tiniest minority of PC games actually offer the option to run at a lacked 30fps."

Upper One Games and E-Line Media teamed together to create an astounding game concentrating on the culture, mythology, and history of the Inupiat Native Alaskan people, and it all tells a story. News::Steam Squad Needs a Bit More Steam - Early Access Review - Cliqist

Emily Tofanelli writes: "Overall, once I got the hang of it, Steam Squad is actually fairly entertaining. However, the UI is very unfriendly, and the game could really benefit from a tutorial. Im not the kind of person to open up the enclosed game guide for a console game, but I usually trust that there will be some sort of hey, here is how you do this! bit towards the beginning of a game. News::Five Nights at Freddy's 2 Review (Denkiphile)

Kevin from Denkiphile: "Coming straight out of left field, Five Nights at Freddys was an excellent entry to a genre that I feel has gotten very stale very quickly. A look at most horror games now reveals a lot of shoddy stealth mechanics, uninspired art direction, and terribly predictable AI. Five Nights at Freddys did away with all that, with its crude mid-90s feel, ridiculously scary presentation, and crisp, yet terrifying gameplay. I just wish its sequel was as good because unfortunately, it isnt."
