News::Gamesradar- Dying Light Preview

GR:Earth has, once again, been overrun by zombies. There are undead roaming in the streets, people are being awful to each other (maybe theyre the real monsters, etc.), and youre just trying to survive in this terrible, crazy world. Such is the setting for Techland's next open-world adventure, Dying Light. But while it features a variety of tropes we've seen a hundred times (many of which can be found in the developer's own Dead Island series), the upcoming survival action game features a number of elements that make it stand out amongst the horde.

News::Destructoid- Dying Light is an open world, freerunning zombie game

DT:Okay, take Dead Island's entire concept, subtract the role-playing mechanics, throw in freerunning features akin to Mirror's Edge, and set it all in an open world that features a day-and-night cycle where things become way harder at night like in Minecraft or DayZ.

News::Rock out to this BlazBlue Chronophantasma trailer

BlazBlue Chronophantasma, the next entry in the BlazBlue franchise, is hitting Japan later this year. In order to get people sufficiently pumped, a new gameplay trailer has surfaced with that classic rock feel we'd expect from Arc System Works. A few of the new characters are shown off, including Kagura Mutsuki (a stance character) and Yuuki Terumi (a character that uses the heat gauge heavily).

Chronophantasma is set to hit the PS3 in Japan on October 23rd, 2013. I'm a pretty big fan of BlazBlue (I'm particularly impress with the variety of the fighter pool), so I hope this sees a worldwide release sooner than later.

News::Spiritual successor to Super Stardust HD coming to PS4

Housemarque, the folks behind Super Stardust HD, Outland, and Dead Nation, have announced that they're hard at work developing an unnamed spiritual successor to the Super Stardust franchise. This title will be a PS4 exclusive.

"We are super excited to be working on Sony’s next-gen hardware," said Housemarque’s CEO Ilari Kuittinen. "The platform’s performances are enabling us to do things that wouldn’t be possible otherwise and we truly believe that better technology can lead to better gameplay. The more tools and resources we have at our disposal, the better. "

They've also teased another unannounced PS4 project. Information on both will be revealed in the coming months. E3 maybe?

News::Reading Eagle Game review: 'Metro: Last Light' digs deep under Moscow

What are you doing after the apocalypse? Video-game creators have been asking that question for years, with results ranging from Bethesda's sublime "Fallout 3" to id Software's forgettable "Rage." Ukrainian developer 4A Games fell somewhere in between with 2010's "Metro: 2033," based on the bleak fiction of Russian novelist Dmitry Glukhovsky. It boasted incredibly detailed visuals that helped the player overlook somewhat sluggish combat controls, clunky artificial intelligence and a somewhat vague narrative.

News::Fantasy Life will be getting an expansion in Japan

Readers know that I've been clamoring for an international release of Fantasy Life for quite some time. As a roaring success in Japan, Level-5 has already seen fit to update the game, calling the enhancement Fantasy Life Link!

Most of the upgrades are online-centric, adding four player online co-op, a new Link Mode (messaging), an all-new website with game statistics, and a brand new island with more content. The upgrade will launch on July 25th for 4,980 yen. If you own the original, you can upgrade for a 2,000 yen fee.

I'm hoping that Level-5 is saturating the Japanese market before announcing a localization, leaving us with the enhanced Link version as a base package. Between this and Animal Crossing: New Leaf, the 3DS is the place to be for life simulation games.

News::E3 2013: New Nintendo Direct set for June 11

The next Nintendo Direct will showcase the future of Wii U on June 11, the platform holder has confirmed.

It’ll be livestreamed on June 11 at 3pm UK time, that’s 10am Eastern and 7am Pacific.

Nintendo has already confirmed that it will show off a new Super Mario and Mario Kart game at E3, and it is also expected to show the new Super Smash Bros game for the first time.

The Nintendo Direct will replace the Nintendo’s traditional press conference, as the Japanese company announced last month it would not be holding a ‘large scale’ E3 showcase. It has, however, invited the press to a hands-on event on the E3 show floor.

News::Review: Dead Island: Riptide [eGamer]

eGamer writes: "Dead Island: Riptide is simply more of the same, and is so similar to the original that it may have been an expansion pack. It does nothing to truly improve on its predecessor, and will only really please those who are eager for more Dead Island, or those who are completely new to the series and enjoy a decent zombie basher. Otherwise, this is just a very dull affair, and its mostly average. It can be fun, but on the whole its unimaginative, flawed and grows tired before its time. Its also terribly overpriced."

NIS' PS3 RPG Witch and the Hundred Knights is coming later this year, and for now, you can take a look at some in-depth screenshots. A ton of stuff is confirmed, most notably a boob-centric encounter, as well as world map minion roaming, sad robots, witch domination, and creepy fish men.

Now, you might say this game has it all, and you'd probably be right. I'm looking forward to seeing how this one pans out, as it doesn't feature NIS' traditional SRPG style gameplay, and has some pretty incredible art to boot. PS3 RPG fans, make sure you keep this one on your radar.

The skill system is highlighted by a tarot card design, some of which feature alternate skins for the game's cast.
