News::Reach for the stars with Light of Altair - review on @IM_PLAYIN

IM PLAYIN looks at the RTS space colonisation indie game 'Light of Altair' "Indie games are really increasing in popularity these days. Theyre often simple to play and fun in small doses, without the need for sifting through hours of side-missions and collectables that are often unnecessarily packed in to the bigger games"

Its understandable that people were sceptical when it was revealed that players would be taking control of Clementine in the second season of Telltales multi-game of the year winning The Walking Dead. News::Explore space in Rodina, pre-release version on sale now

Rodina, a space exploration game, is now being offered for sale in an pre-release state. Taking a tiered, "pay-what-you-want" pricing structure, you can have the current build by spending a minimum of $1, but access to updated versions of the game (including the final version) will require a minimum price of $15.

And if you're balking at paying anything to play it, there's also a meaty, one-hour time-limited demo which you can check out before plonking down any cash.

Check out the above video to see some of my experience with the demo. As noted, I used the controller, though I have tried keyboard and mouse also and the ship is pretty challenging to control with either scheme. I'm not sure I have what it takes to get good at it, but there seems to be a whole vastness of space out there to explore, so I'll probably keep trying.

News::OmniGamer: The Walking Dead Season 2: Ep.1: All That Remains Review

*Editors Note: Though theyre kept to a minimum, this review contains spoilers for the first season of Telltales The Walking Dead. In Season One of Telltale Games nail-biting The Walking Dead, we were introduced to a truly rare sort of supporting character: a little girl named Clementine. She was someone you needed to protect; she was a child who needed to find humanity in a world gone mad. Her uniqueness came from the fact that she felt like a real person, and one that you never became annoyed with. In fact, over the course of The Walking Deads serialized survival-fest, I personally found it very difficult not to care for her. The relationship between Clementine and Season Ones protagonist, Lee, was organic and even subtle something you dont often see in the horror genre, or video games at all for that matter.
