News::Motorcycle combat racer Road Redemption on Steam Early Access

It has been a little over a year since the Road Redemption Kickstarter campaign launched, and to nobody's surprise, it has slightly missed its projected August 2014 launch window, but it is not too far behind yet. The Road Rash-inspired motorcycle adventure is now up on Steam Early Access.

The video above shows that there is a lot more to the idea than simply updating the hit-someone-with-a-chain-while-you-ride-a-motorcycle gameplay of Road Rash. We also see some interesting stuff like projectile weapons, rooftop races, a grappling hook, and a surprisingly complex skill tree.

News::Fanatical Five | 5 Indie Game Devs That Deserve Your Hard-Earned Money

As gaming technology moves forward, better game development tools become open to the general public. These days, anyone can develop an indie game with professional caliber tools, provided they put in the work needed. This is great because as AAA game budgets bloat and development cycles keep expanding, indie games are there to help fill the gap. At the same time though, theres very little quality control on these titles. With indies coming more frequently than ever, its easy to be burned by poor purchases (see: The Letter). With that in mind, weve composed a list of five indie studios that have put out titles worth your hard earned money.

News::Clockwork Empires Preview | The Game Scouts

Shezka Foxe: Okay, so where to start? Well, Clockwork Empires is basically a civilization simulator. I was incredibly excited when I first heard about this title you know, jumping in your seat cant wait to play kind of excited. This is typically my kind of genre (it probably has something to do with me having evil overlord training, but anyway). I finally had the opportunity to see what its all about. Now, just to be clear, this is an EARLY RELEASE game, meaning the game isnt even out of beta yet. This means its still in its infancy so its not quite fully playable yet. Therefore, this preview is going to be a bit stranger than others Ive written before. However, Im going to be as clear cut as possible about this and break it down as best as I can. If you have any complaints wellI suggest you watch out for the fish people.

NoobFeed writes: "As a grand scale strategy title in the 4X conquest genre, Endless Legend matches its management design, chess-like combat and roleplaying game (RPG) elements beautifully. News::Risen 3: Titan Lords PC Review | The Game Scouts

Tin Salamunic: Piranha Bytes is a peculiar developer. Their games are typically technically messy and narratively disjointed, but they carry a certain nostalgic allure that makes them difficult to put down. While the Gothic series has received both critical praise and criticism (some even call Gothic 2 the greatest western RPG of all time), Risen gained very few followers since it originally released in 2009. While the first Risen was met with generally favorable scores, the sequel withered away its potential with questionable design decisions and frustrating combat mechanics. With Risen 3: Titan Lords, Piranha Bytes hopes to reclaim its fan base by salvaging the predecessors best elements into a more polished adventure. In a way, theyve succeeded. While the end result is still a far cry from a flawless experience, Risen 3 is Piranha Bytes best entry since Gothic 2. From its expansive world and plethora of quests to improved visuals and tighter combat, Risen 3 is a step in the ri...

News::Bladestorm lives up to its name, looks nice on PS4 and Xbox One

I'd never played Bladestorm, the historical action/strategy title that seems to be a bit of a cult classic within the Dynasty Warriors type. It's still a bit odd that Koei Tecmo is reviving the 2007 PS3 and 360 game and that the HD update is also coming to the PS3 along with the PS4 and Xbox One.

The TGS showing was sparse. Only the PS4 and Xbox One versions were being demoed, but the two Xbox One stations seemed to have cheaper (not by too much) TVs than the two PS4 stations (also my Xbox One character froze towards the end of the level). It also failed to shed light on the revealed full name, Bladestorm: The Hundred Years' War & Nightmare.

The "Nightmare" bit is meant to refer to a new separate section of the game that eschews faux historical dealings for a fantasy world of goblins and the like.
