News::Far Cry 4's take on Shangri-La sure is stunning
As someone who tended to stick with the bow as the weapon of choice in Far Cry 3 -- and especially in Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon -- I like the look of the mythical Shangri-La in Far Cry 4.
In these levels, you'll fight against strange masked foes with your bow, but there's also a tiger (that can go invisible!) to provide backup on your meditative journey. My only concern is that the missions might outstay their welcome -- although that's more a general fear of open-world game design than anything to do with Far Cry 4 specifically.
Even if that does end up being the case, though, Shangri-La is breathtaking. And I'm not just saying that as a justification for my need to max out the skill tree.

News::Super Time Force Ultra hits Steam this month with lots of new content
Capy Games is bringing its previously Xbox-exclusive Super Time Force to PC on August 25, according to Joystiq, and this is far from a mere port.
Extra content for this Ultra version of the time-traveling run-and-gun game was teased before, but I wasn't expecting there to be too much new stuff for Steam. Turns out I was wrong! There's going to be 50 new challenge-based levels, three additional characters, and the ultra force -- alternate-dimension versions of all existing characters who are more powerful (and more limited in supply) that blow up when they die. They'll be usable after beating the game.
Capy's Nathan Vella says the team has "added more art to it, a bunch more sounds, [and] an entirely secondary soundtrack to the game now which takes place during slow motion ... we kind of went a little crazy." Great news, and console players aren't going to be left out either.

News::The Walking Dead Pinball has a release date and choice-driven gameplay
The Walking Dead pinball table for Zen Pinball was announced back in June, but now we've got a concrete release date: August 26. Zen Studios and Telltale Games have collaborated closely to incorporate the choice-driven style of The Walking Dead: Season One as well as familiar locations that seek to channel the same narrative as the adventure game.
With that said, the pinball table will feature choice-driven gameplay on its own, with new story dialogue, players having to choose who lives or dies in walker attacks, hunting for food and supplies, and more. The real question is, how is this actually going to work? Your guess is as good as mine.
The Walking Dead Pinball is headed for pretty much every platform imaginable, so we'll have to see what happens when we can finally get our hands on it.

News::Here's the official reveal of Mega Audino
The Mega Evolutions keep rolling out, with Mega Audino having leaked just the other day. But now there's a trailer to keep things official. Check out Audino's Mega Evolution, and a rundown on what the evolved version of this Normal-to-Fairy-type monster can do:
Before Mega Evolving, Audino is known to use the feelers on its ears to tell how others are feeling or when a Pokémon Egg might hatch. It may have either the Healer Ability or the Regenerator Ability. After Mega Evolving, Mega Audino adds Fairy-type to its Normal-type, automatically gaining all the advantages of a Fairy-type Pokémon. Mega Audino also always has the Healer Ability. Thanks to its improved Defense and Special Defense stats, Mega Audino can be a great support in Double Battles.
Only a couple more months yet until we see the release of Pokémon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire in November, and by then I surmise we'll have seen nearly every single Mega Evolution. Probably.

Eyes, teeth, and gallons of blood. Surgeon Simulator: Anniversary Edition is now on Steam, and it's more bonkers than ever. News::Here's a full look at one of Assassin's Creed Unity's open-ended missions
With Assassin's Creed Unity, Ubisoft is promising missions that feature multiple ways to complete a given objective. Hamza talked about this "black box" design in his recent preview, and here's a look at one of the ways an early assassination can potentially play out.
Out of everything shown in this gameplay footage, my favorite part is when one of the targets gets killed while petting a cat next to a haystack. Died doing what he loved, that guy.
