Lara Croft And Jason Statham Were Both Models In A 1997 Men's Mag

Here is something wonderful. The November 2007 issue of FHM (British edition), which I just found lurking (and well-preserved) in a box in my garage. I guess I kept it thanks to a teenage obsession with Tomb Raider model Rhona Mitra (who appears on the cover), but I'm glad I kept it thanks to a load of other reasons.

News::Star Citizen Arena Commander v0.8 Gameplay Footage

GamersNexus: "With Star Citizen's "Arena Commander" module now at full bore, we popped in last night for a quick gameplay session to showcase the dog-fighting module's mechanics. Things are pretty simple right now, given their rather slimmed-down state and use of placeholder graphics assets, but it's a solid start for the ambitious title."

Julie Morley writes: "When developers bring their projects to one of the crowdfunding platforms its usually so they can fund its development. Every now and then, though, a developer will ask backers for money to help fund the completion of a mostly finished product, which is the case with Skara: The Blade Remains. Its unclear what exactly the $35,000 Skaras developers are asking for will be used on, but it does appear to be going towards actual development, and not marketing and PR."

News::FIFA 15 on PC won't use the old engine again

While EA Sports went with its new Ignite engine for FIFA 14 on Xbox One and PlayStation 4, the company opted not to use the game engine for the PC version. At the time, it was argued that the average player didn't have a good-enough machine to handle Ignite. Which there's truth to, I'm sure, but for a franchise as massive as FIFA, that kind of justification is disappointing.

That won't be the case again with FIFA 15 on PC. EA Sports made the announcement today, noting "all the same core features coming to the PS4 and Xbox One versions of the game" will be included. The minimum and recommended system specs were also disclosed.

Minimum Required Specifications:

  • OS: Windows V/7/8/8.1 64-bit

  • CPU: Intel Q6600 Core2 Quad @ 2.4Ghz

  • RAM: 4GB

  • Hard Drive Space Required: 15.0 GB

  • Minimum Supported Video Cards: ATI Radeon HD 5770, NVIDIA GTX 650

  • DirectX: 11.0

Recommended Specifications:

  • OS: Windows V/7/8/8.1 64-bit

  • CPU: Intel i5-2550K @ 3.4Ghz

  • RAM: 8GB

  • Hard Drive Space Required: 15.0 GB

  • Supported Video Cards: ATI Radeon HD 6870, NVIDIA GTX 460

  • DirectX: 11.0

There's more to come at E3, obviously, but I'm glad we got this info out of the way now.

News::Wolfenstein: The New Order Review - Happiness In Simplicty [Pixel Gate]

Sean Halliday of Pixel Gate writes: ''There arent many first-person shooters that can raise a smile via gunning down waves of enemies, only to stop you in your tracks and make you question some pretty heavy topics. Dual wielding machine guns while unleashing hell one bullet at a time in one moment, mulling over racism and oppression the next. Wolfenstein: The New Order is far from what was expected. Franchise protagonist B.J. Blazkowicz is back, complete with a voice and high-definition chin, and once again hes battling the Third Reich. The New Order opens with a brief mission set during, what should be, the end of World War 2, as B.J. and his team assault a Nazi compound.''

News::Rumor: Mario Maker to be revealed at E3 2014

An alleged picture from Nintendo's E3 2014 showfloor was leaked, showing a station displaying something called Mario Maker. The image comes by way of Nintendo Enthusiast, and we won't know for sure what this is, or what platform it's aimed at until E3 come next week.

So until then we can only make guesses because we're a blog. Best guess is that you're making your very own Super Mario Bros. style levels. Not exactly a concept that comes to mind that would help push Nintendo platforms into consumer hands, but still a neat idea that's probably long overdue.

Join Destructoid for our E3 Unfiltered coverage all of next week. The Nintendo Direct will air on June 10 at 9AM PT where we will see all sorts of Nintendo announcements, including details on the special 3DS 90 minute presentation.

Sniper Elite 3's new trailer sure is full of the gore porn. Headshot, after headshot, after headshot. We've seen a lot of the single-player, but now we're able to see all the multiplayer options.

First there's 12-player competitive multiplayer. Now everyone can be a camping sniper punk! There's also a two-player co-op mode, and players can play through the entire campaign with a buddy. The survival mode here in particular looks fun.

Sniper Elite 3 is out on July 1 in the US, and June 27 in Europe for the Xbox One, PS4, PS3, Xbox 360, and PC.
