It looked suitably futuristic and thankfully shied away from pre-recorded team audio. The game will be a four-player cooperative experience and will see players setting up traps and tackling all kinds of outlandish creatures in what looks like an effort to rob banks in space. That could be neat.

PUBG is first appearing on Xbox One with its work-in-progress Game Preview version on December 12, while the PC version of the game is working toward its 1.0 launch on December 20.
"Both versions are being developed at the same time, but they both have their own separate roadmap," according to PUBG Corp. "Various Xbox One features and functionality will change and come online over time just like they have on PC, with our goal being to have both versions align to each other as soon as possible."
Before that, though, we'll be able to preview PUBG's second map, Miramar. It's playable tonight at midnight Pacific time on PC and will eventually make it over to Xbox One in "early 2018."
He may seem like an absolute mad man, but Josef Fares and Hazelight Studios embrace couch co-op in new and intriguing ways with A Way Out.

This new trailer from The Game Awards 2017 is different because for once Media Molecule doesn't fixate on the tools to create experiences. It shows what's presumably story content or something of that nature. And some of it's kinda fucked up looking! Here's a panda who's coming to kill you with a pick axe:

Most people don't realize that the original creators of Painkiller worked on The Vanishing of Ethan Carter, so the lead in for the Witchfire teaser played like a walking simulator before ripping out a gun and getting all shooty. It was a great reveal and got me super excited. I've been waiting for a real sequel to Painkiller ever since People Can Fly lost the rights to the name. Bulletstorm is great and all, but it doesn't have the same heavy metal thrills that Painkiller had.
There isn't much else to go on, but I'm ready to see more. The game is so far only announced for PC, but will more than likely end up on consoles at some point.

That's Norman Reedus speaking to Hideo Kojima on-stage at The Game Awards, reacting to the new trailer for Death Stranding, a game he stars in. I don't know what I saw either, but I love its mood.
Each second of footage seemed weirder, freakier, and more head-scratching than the last. Fans will be picking this apart and piecing it back together over the next few months, that's for damn sure.
We've been wondering about Dreams for a while now. First announced in 2015 as a trippy, user-controlled kind of world-creating game, Dreams is the new title from LittleBigPlanet studio Media Molecule and it's due to hit PlayStation 4 in 2018. The release date is new -- Media Molecule has been remarkably silent about Dreams over the past few years, but the studio revealed its launch window tonight during The Game Awards.
Get ready for some much-needed hack and slash action on the Switch. Platinum Games Bayonetta series is getting a third instalment exclusively for Nintendo's console. Not only that, but the first two Bayonetta games are also heading to the gaming machine, marking the first time they'll be playable on the go.

What a bombshell at The Game Awards 2017. Immediately after an announcement that the first two Bayonetta titles would be bundled for Switch, Reggie Fils-Aime threw out one more reveal: Bayonetta 3 is currently in development exclusively for Nintendo Switch.
And, like so many of the announcements tonight, that's all we get. There's the teaser trailer that's embedded above and confirmation that the game exists. Still, what an incredible get for Nintendo as it heads into the second year of the Switch.
Bayonetta 1 and 2 are officially making their way to the Nintendo Switch with a release date set for February 16, 2018! Notably, the first game won't be receiving any kind of physical treatment and will be only downloadable.

As a great bonus, you'll be able to get a friends pass free trial when it launches, giving you a way to play the whole game even with a pal who hasn't purchased it.

The next, long-awaited entry in the Soul Calibur franchise is on its way. Soul Calibur VI is scheduled to land on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC in 2018, Bandai Namco announced tonight during The Game Awards. The new fighting game is all about that fancy swordplay, and the debut trailer showcases some potential new mechanics, as weapons power up in different ways throughout the fight.
The next add-on pack for The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild takes the champions from the base game (Goron, Rito and Zora) adds a slew of new challenges. And best of all, it's available incredibly soon. More than just additional shrines, the pack brings in new costumes for the Hero of Time and his trusty steed, and it pulls the King of Hyrule and Princess Zelda into the mix too. "The Champions Ballad" will be released tonight on Switch and Wii U and should give you some extra bits to play through as you're scouring Hyrule. Oh, right, and as Link you'll get to tool around the overworld on a motorcycle. There isn't a lot more you could ask for, really.

Fortnite: Battle Royale may have caught some flak from the makers of PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds, but that didn't stop it from becoming an instant hit. To build on that success (and steal some of PUBG's thunder, ahead of its arrival on Xbox One), the free-to-play title is adding an insane new game mode. Instead of a 100 player free-for-all, it will be two squads of 50 scrapping it out till one team is left standing. The free mode is available until December 17th on PS4, Xbox One, PC, and Mac.
Epic Games is really proud of the progress they've made so far in the battle royale arena with Fortnite, and they took to the Game Awards to mention their latest mode -- a 50v50 war.
The gist is that two teams will duke it out until the last team is standing, and the mode is available now. Sadly, it's going to be cycled out it seems, as the mode is billed as a "limited time" addition through Sunday December 17. More modes are going to be rotated in eventually after this testing period.
Epic also reports that 30 million people have picked up Fortnite since it launched in July with a peak of 1.3 million concurrent users last weekend, and given that it's still in Early Access, that's not bad.
Tekken series producer Katsuhiro Harada took to the stage to give us a quick tease of Soul Calibur VI at The Game Awards tonight. While not much is known, the game will contain the same tale of swords and souls being eternally retold and will run on Unreal Engine 4. It will also release sometime next year on PS4, Xbox One and PC.

"You play as an explorer and filmmaker who, along with your old partner, has traveled to the middle of the desert in the hopes of making a seemingly-impossible discovery and an incredible film."

I didn't realize how much I wanted an excuse to return to The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild until I saw the latest trailer for The Champions' Ballad DLC. The music, the new outfits, the freakin' motorcycle...
The add-on releases tonight, as revealed at The Game Awards, and if you "overcome all of the challenges," you'll earn The Master Cycle Zero for Link.
The first reveal of The Game Awards 2017 (the proper show, not the pre-show) was a real banger. We learned what's next for Campo Santo, the Firewatch developer. It's some sort of an adventure game called In the Valley of Gods.
We're left to glean what we can from the reveal trailer, but here's what we can discern. It follows two people as they explore some sort of ancient ruins/temples/pyramids, the Firewatch-like chunky climbing is back, and the track that it's all set to is pretty perfect.
This seems like something that we could very likely learn more about out of PlayStation Experience this weekend. For now, we have the name, the announcement trailer, and a 2019 release window.
It's fairly vague, but From Software have officially confirmed a new upcoming game with a short clip that played during The Game Awards and a single quote: "Shadows Die Twice."

Accounting +, an updated version of Accounting, will be heading to PlayStation VR on December 19. Geoff Keighley took to the stage of The Game Awards to mislead people by saying we were in store for a "serious and dark" game that then segued into a balloon man saying, "FUCK YOU!" What a twist!
No price was given, but it won't be long before you'll be able to dive into the zany world of this game from the comfort of your couch. The director behind the game, William Pugh, and Justin Roiland did mention there was a secret zoo level, so that might be where the + comes from.

File this one under "Whoa, that's a lot of zombies and also they are very fast." The first announcement at The Game Awards 2017 was the reveal of a World War Z game for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
Details are mostly sparse, but here's what we know. It's in development by Saber Interactive, and it's "coming soon." And, you know, there are a lot of zombies and also they are very fast.
The Game Awards 2017 are tonight and if you've tagged along with us in past years, you'll know just how, uh, lively the comments tend to get for these streams. It's quality bonding time!
Aside from the awards themselves, there will be multiple game reveals. We'll be breaking that news out on the site, but if you wanna see everything happen live and get a little rowdy, look no further.
The festivities begin at 5:30pm Pacific and it sounds like we're in for a two-hour show. I need coffee.
