News::Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon soundtrack out on May 1

Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon's soundtrack is glorious, and it will be available starting on May 1 for $9.99. The 25 original tracks were created by the group Power Glove (not the heavy metal cover band), and you can get a taste for some of the tracks over on the band's SoundCloud page. Note that the soundtrack will be included for free to those that pre-order the PC version of the game too.

We've already played through Blood Dragon, and you can expect our review to go up early next week. Until then, read up on my hands-on preview, or just go watch some gameplay footage.

News::Denkiphile: God Mode Review

Davis from Denkiphile: "With Atluss recent published titles, were seeing more and more titles that arent as similar to its string of localized JRPGs or even Catherine. God Mode, an indie title from Old School Games and Atluss latest acquisition, certainly fits this trend. Unfortunately, also unlike Atluss signature JRPGs, God Mode is a shallow game that fails to live up to its name."

News::Blizzard MoP Themed Mahjong is Available for Booking in May

Last year, Blizzard revealed a set of Mahjong of MoP themed in BWC and took some bookings at the same time. The Mahjong is limited to 1000 set worldwide which is eminently collectable. However, there is no further information about the Mahjong since then. According to the officials, the plan to release the Mahjong was postponed because Blizzard made some improvements of the Mahjongs crafting and details to make it perfect for players.

News::BioShock Infinite: Constants and Variables

Jackson from DC writes: Infinite is a game that we are going to be talking about for a long time. I applaud it, first of all, for not always assuming the player is stupid, that they need to be handfed. Infinite never gives too much away about its overall plot, and some have argued whether it truly explores many of the issues it raises. Overall, Infinite never forces understanding on you.

News::The 10 Worst Video Game Sequels

In today's gaming industry, just about any successfully and financially successful game means a sequel isn't too far behind. While that decision makes sense from a business point of view, it also means developers are expected to replicate success, and in some cases, catch lightning in a bottle yet again. That's easier said than done, as can be seen by any number of sequels released year-to-year. Whether due to rushed development, a shift in direction, publisher pressure, or just failure to connect with gamers a second time, many sequels come up short. We've looked through the pixels of gaming history to focus on the sequels we most felt were disappointing, misguided, or just plain broken.

News::When Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic Changed My Life

Metal Arcade: JJ Evangelista writes: To this day, no game has ever trumped the feeling, the experience, and that epic reveal like Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic. My cousin introduced me to Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic in 2003. He just said, Here, check it out! Its a pretty good game. You can borrow it if you want to. I was a bit skeptical and the box art didnt leave me too thrilled. Id never really been into Star Wars, that much. I mean, I grew up loving the original trilogy, and being an 80s kid, Id spend the day with my cousins and my brother watching all 3 in a row. Star Wars was a huge part of my childhood, but it never became a part of my life. It was just a movie that I enjoyed watching. By the time the prequels emerged, I was out of high school, and just vaguely still into the series. Always loved the lightsaber, though.

News::Dead Island: Riptide Review | IGN

Its tempting to simply paste the original Dead Island review here and call it a day. A sequel to 2011s first-person zombie-dismembering co-op role-playing game, Dead Island Riptide adds a new character, some additional zombies, and boats, but otherwise largely reanimates the same hours of gory decapitations and corpse looting. The action is here in spades, but Riptide doesn't lift a finger to address the original Dead Island's failures.

News::Highborn Review | ComboCaster

Highborn is a turn-based strategy game with some RPG elements and stands out from the competition thanks to his sense of humor completely crazy. Highborn is like a machine gun of jokes, some more dry than others but that help us to remember throughout the game this should not be taken seriously at all. I leave however notice that some jokes are pretty bad and hurt the game more than help. It's one of those games plus throw some less good jokes, enjoys himself, reminding the player of various clichés that although we used when we think we laughed them really well. Breaking the fourth wall enough times for your mood shows us that he does not take himself too seriously. A game recently discussed here uses the same type of humor with a slightly better results (DLC Quest), but compensates Highborn with other elements of the game. Graphically Highborn looks a lot like Warcraft III, perhaps with better graphics of course. There is a strong inspiration of the design but Blizzard has e...

News::Evoland review | Thunderbolt

Nick Vracar, Thunderbolt writes: Evoland is the kind of game that wishes to be endearing to the nostalgic. Its a look way back at the history of the action/adventure genre, covering ground from Zelda to Diablo, thrown in with an assortment of Final Fantasy in between. Exploration uncovers gaming refinements and jokes poking fun at the cliches of yesteryear. Theres a lot of heart in this, which makes it even sadder to see it crippled by the shortcomings of the genres it attempts to emulate, along with some personal faults of its own.

Sean Kelley, Thunderbolt writes: To enjoy Dead Island, and subsequently its successor Riptide, one has to embrace the absurd, and quite often, the stupid. Iron pipes will break after a handful of uses; high level meat cleavers will be too advanced for your low level character to wield; and every survivor of the exotic zombie apocalypse has disgustingly fat wads of US currency on-hand. Absurd, its really the only word that properly encapsulates Techlands series.

No but really, the team behind Infinity were inspired by how kids just use their imagination to create their own entertainment. And that's just what the new Disney game aims to do by offering a sandbox full of toys that anyone can use to create their own little personal stories.

Disney is going to make SO much money off all this.
