News::Skara: The Blade Remains Early Access Preview / Gametactics

Eric Kelly of Gametactics, checks out the early access of Skara: The Blade Remains. The game is a multi-player focused PVP melee action game. In the preview build, I could play either Free-for-All or Team Deathmatch modes. Since I had trouble joining a game, I was left with the option of hosting my own game, and had to make use of bots. The number of bots could be set up to three. The game is split in-between two factions. The Kharn, and the Durno. The Kharn seem to be tribal people, while the Durno look like your typical medieval looking people, replete with armor. The Kharn also use crude but brutal weapons. There are other factions that the full game will have, but these were the only two available.

News::Kill The Bad Guy - Review | GamingLives

GamingLives takes a look at Exkee's strategic assassin-em-up, Kill The Bad Guy. "Kill The Bad Guy isnt a bad game by any stretch of the imagination. Ive played bad games - this isnt one. Its just that isnt really a good game either. In an industry that moves as fast as this one, this game will be released and forgotten in the same breath and, to an extent, thats a real shame because I expect some people will enjoy the puzzles it provides. Overall, though, Kill The Bad Guy is an interesting premise with an execution that leaves me feeling very indifferent about the final result."

News::Review: Transformers: Rise of the Dark Spark (New Gamer Nation)

Making a licensed game is never an easy task. Most licensed games are put on very short development cycles, which in turn makes the game have many half-cooked ideas and implementations. Recently two Transformers games, War for Cybertron and Fall of Cybertron, broke this mold by having solid shooting mechanics, exciting set pieces, and great storytelling with the Transformers universe. Unfortunately, Transformers: Rise of the Dark Spark bears little resemblance to its previous entries, and new developer Edge of Reality presents a Transformers game that doesnt ooze the same love and care as the High Moon Studios Transformers titles, and falls short on almost every level.

News::Gorgeous shooter Myriad targeting PS4: "It looks ridiculously cool"

Dealspwn reports: "Yesterday we previewed Myriad, a truly eyepopping indie game that elevates twinstick shooting into an artform in and of itself. Inspired by the works of Kandinsky, it allows us to reshape levels on the fly, creating dynamic unique masterpieces every time we play. It's a fascinating concept and a ton of fun even at this early stage, and though the preview build was naturally running on PC, developer Erlend Grefsrud has designs on a Sony's new-gen machine due to its unique streaming opportunities."

LucasArts, Sierra, and the old classics with their ancient graphics and rudimentary gameplay rounded out by (mostly) superb writing.
