News:: 'Mass Effect: Andromeda' won't get more single-player content

BioWare vowed to fix Mass Effect: Andromeda's numerous teething troubles shortly after launch, but there's apparently only so much it can do. The studio has revealed that its 1.10 patch is the last single-player update for the game -- in a confirmation of rumors, there won't be any solo-focused patches or (more importantly) downloadable content. The game was meant to expand on the Pathfinder story though multiplayer missions, BioWare says, and other stories will be told through comics and novels.

News:: German magazine leaks THQ Nordic's Biomutant

An advertisement from a German gaming magazine (now archived on Reddit) has spoiled the announcement of a brand new open-world action RPG from THQ Nordic. Called Biomutant, the game features a post apocalyptic setting with anthropomorphic characters utilizing kung-fu. Sounds absolutely bonkers (no pun intended), if you ask me.

The game is coming to PS4, Xbox One and PC sometime next year with the leaked ad translating to "beginning 2018." That could mean Q1 or just that the game is releasing, so speculation is all we have. The developer will be Experiment 101, a Swedish studio formed by ex Avalanche members (developers behind Just Cause).

News:: Hot dogs are sandwiches

Recently, Nintendo polled Switch users to settle the age-old question, “is a hot dog a sandwich?” It’s no secret where I stand on this issue, but I’m happy to report that 54% of voters made the right choice. That’s right people! A hot dog is a sandwich!

The National Hot Dog and Sausage Council (I still can’t believe this is actually a thing…) had previously stated that they were not, but they’ve got a brand to protect. I imagine they probably also don’t want to reprint all their t-shirts, banners, and various other paraphernalia to say, “The National Hot Dog and Sausage Sandwich Council.” An employee for NASA, on the other hand, clearly sided with the majority of Switch voters all the way back in 1970.

The sandwich wars have been raging over in the Quickposts and Cblogs for months now, so it’s great to finally have a solid win for #TeamSandwich.

News:: Risky Boots ready for action as Shantae DLC gets dated

As tweeted by both WayForward Games and Shantae co-creator Matt Bozon, the campaign DLC for 2016's Shantae: Half-Genie Hero, will be setting sail in just 10 days, August 29 to be specific.

The new DLC will see players take control of Shantae's arch-rival, the nefarious, self-proclaimed "Queen of the Seven Seas", Risky Boots. In a plotline that runs parallel to the Half-Genie Hero storyline, players will guide Risky through Sequin Land, gathering items to upgrade the Dynamo device that she steals from the protagonists in the game's third act.

Risky will be aided in her misdeeds by skills returning from the previous game, Pirate's Curse, including the ability to cannon-bounce and glide. New skills include the use of a grappling gun, as well as the ability to command Tinkerbats to battle alongside you. All this potentially leading towardd a showdown with the adorable Shantae herself.

I'm quite excited for this release, as I'm sure many fans are. It has been a long time coming and I personally cannot wait to set sail on the Poop Toot for some swashbuckling adventure.

Pirate Queen's Quest, is a paid DLC update (free to Kickstarter backers) and its price is still TBD. It releases August 29 on PS4, PS Vita, Wii U, Switch, Xbox One and PC.

News:: PS4 Port Report: Zero Time Dilemma

There was a time when the Zero Escape series seemed all but dead. After a stellar but quiet debut on the Nintendo DS, the series saw real success on the 3DS and Vita with Virtue’s Last Reward. That game, like its predecessor, sold well in the West but arguably bombed in Japan. For a long time, fans like me didn’t know if we’d ever see the story continue.

Today, it’s nearly impossible to escape the series. The first two entries are fully playable on four different platforms, and yesterday, 2016’s Zero Time Dilemma joined them when it launched for the PlayStation 4.

'The Defenders' Is
Thrilling Superhero
Team-Up Entertainment

Mark Hughes,
Forbes

Netflix's last Marvel series, Iron Fist, didn't quite offer the same thrills as its previous three original series. Its fourth installment that unites all four heroes debuted today, and so far, the reviews are mostly positive. Forbes details how the streaming service returns to form with The Defenders miniseries. Even though the latest show may not be the best of the Marvel options on Netflix thus far, it's an improvement after the disappointment of Iron Fist and shows potential for future team-ups with the foursome.

News:: Logitech's PowerPlay delivers no-compromise wireless gaming mice

It's 2017 and many hardcore PC gamers are still devoted to their wired mice. Ask them why and you'll likely get two reasons: You don't have to worry about charging them, and there's no need to worry about potential latency issues. Either of those issues could be incredibly frustrating during the middle of a heated match.

That's why Logitech developed its PowerPlay system, which can wirelessly charge mice while they're sitting on a specialized mousepad. Together with the company's latest wireless technology, PowerPlay could finally be the first cord-free mouse to completely satisfy PC gamers.
