News::Surgeon Simulator 2013 Review [Gamer Euphoria]

Gamer Euphoria writes: ''Every so often, a game will come along that becomes popular through word of mouth. Be it Youtube videos, tweets or bundles, there is always at least one game that sells on word of mouth. Surgeon Simulator 2013 is the current people champion, even if the term simulator is a bit of a lie. Its a simple game that doesnt take itself too seriously. Players control a surgeons arm and hand, the mouse moves the arm and hand while the keys operate the fingers, as they attempt to pull off a number of operations. Its a simple concept that provides plenty of laughs, mainly down to the silliness of it all.''

News::Why 'Aliens: Colonial Marines' Is a Better Bad Game than 'Star Trek'

Forbes: Aliens: Colonial Marines (A:CM) is a videogame that received mostly poor reviews when it was released on February 12, 2013. Star Trek is a videogame that received mostly poor reviews when it was released last week. As theyre both based on science fiction movies and they both have co-op play, they compare well to each other. And having spent time with both, I find that A:CM is the better game. But first, I didnt think that A:CM was bad: I thought it was a good game with flaws. However, Im one of the few, and I acknowledge that most gamers had extremely poor experiences. Ill be taking their thoughts into consideration here.

GamerZines writes: Theres a strange kind of snobbery associated with poker and this is even more the case with gamings take on the gambling past-time some foolishly call a sport. Take just a passing glance at forums associated with Poker Night 2 and youll see posts calling out idiotic AI behaviour, accusations of cheating (no we arent joking) and complaints that the AI is both too predictable and at times seemingly random. Were not going to talk about the nature of internet crazies and their lust for Borderlands 2 and Team Fortress 2 loot though. News::Star Trek: The Video Game Review | Dealspwn

Dealspwn: "Star Trek is a game that will make you feel less intelligent the more you play of it. There's just nothing to recommend here, whether it's because of the bland, nonsensical story and utterly forgettable gameplay, or the risible AI and poorly explored and implemented co-op. Pine, Quinto and co. do a good job, and somewhere under here, once upon a time, there might have been ideas for a good game. But this is not it."

Trion's bold and brave project has many flaws, but if the developers can address them in time it could turn what is oddly enjoyable into just enjoyable. News::Nintendo UK announces more Wii U Virtual Console titles

Nintendo UK just announced some new Wii U Virtual Console games, set to hit the system soon with all of the usual GamePad upgrades in tow. In the near future, UK gamers will be getting Super Ghouls 'n Ghosts, Super Mario Bros., Pac-Man, The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past, Mega Man, Xevious, Balloon Fight, and Street Fighter II.

My guess is they'll drop in the next few weeks or so, at which point Nintendo will start to roll out some more titles. While I wish the rate of distribution could be a lot faster, I guess this is better than nothing. Keep at it, Nintendo!

News::Review: Star Trek | Digitally Downloaded

Digitally Downloaded writes: "Perhaps it was the license that hurt how far the developers could go with this game. But as weve seen with the likes of Rocksteadys Batman games there is no reason that a developer cant take a license and break it away from the film material in a way that remains appropriate to that film. Star Trek could have been an incredible game. Instead it is a generic buddy shooter. Its a bit of fun, but thats all it is, and for this franchise that is unforgivable."
