News::PC Port Report: Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance

Hey everyone! There’s a Platinum Games game out on PC! WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR?! Well, I guess since this is their first foray into the world of PC ports, it’s probably a good idea to check and see how well they’ve done.

Other companies haven’t done so well in their PC debut, largely due to a complete misunderstanding of the market and lack of continued support. Luckily, Konami and Platinum Games know the value in patches, and have addressed some of the issues in Metal Gear Rising .

News::Dr. David's Indie Spotlight: Cuphead is like a 1930s Technicolor cartoon

GameZone: "Video games often emulate an older style of film and gaming for aesthetic purposes, and the results tend to be largely pleasing to the eyes. As far as movie influence goes, the unlockable black-and-white filter from Max Payne 3 and the Western-influenced sepia tone found in The Last of Us come to mind. Then there's the more video gamey inspiration, with countless games including Where Is My Heart? and Fez going for pixelated graphics. Cuphead from Studio MDHR blends a bit of both worlds, combining pixel art with a lovely 1930s cartoon look to it."

News::Why Buying Into an Alpha is a Bad Thing

"Gamers have been complaining for the last few months about the release state of Battlefield 4, which was released with countless bugs and glitches. It was constantly crashing to the desktop and all in all seemed a bit broken and unfinished, which is a cardinal sin for a triple-A title with a large budget. This understandably turned a large amount of people off of the game; I mean, who wants to buy a broken game? Most of us, apparently - except those willing to throw money at unfinished games on false promises." - Jay Adams of Geekenstein

Titanfall will be launching this coming March, but what would have happened if Titanfall was an Xbox One launch title back in November when the system launched? Recently, Respawn Entertainment programmer Jon Shiring talked about some of the craziness that is associated with being a console launch title, and referenced one of the hardest things being the changing of the console leading up to launch.

News::Most Anticipated Games of 2014 Dragon Age: Inquisition

TechRaptor - Dragon Age: Inquisition promises to be one of the more interesting releases of 2014. This third instalment in the franchise marks another departure in terms of direction, but this time it seems for the better. After the claustrophobic Dragon Age 2 its nice to see Bioware focus on a large and distinct world. The promise of Skyrim-esque size, combined with gameplay that mixes the pace of Dragon Age 2 with the tactics and depth of Origins (personally Id prefer the combat was just straight Origins) sounds all rather promising.

GB: "Wolfenstein successfully initiated a movement which set in motion a refined way of looking at games and even became the archetype for future first person shooters. "All of games in the series though, ever stuck to featuring a fictional world with twisted Nazi experiments to pave the way for death and cause troubles for the spy Blazkowicz while pitting him against other surreal creations and claustrophobic castles. Wolfenstein: The New Order carries the nub of the series. But does it really?"

Ian Fisher writes: Being someone that hasnt seen the LOS2 feasting sequence play out myself I wont entirely say its perfect since its hard to commit to such a belief when not being able to place it within the context of the rest of the game. Perhaps the sequence couldve been fine tuned to a degree or maybe it simply sticks out too much if similar sequences of Draculas evil-doing ways dont occur in between the moments of him defeating giant enemies like a true badass warrior. So theres that side of the equation, but what truly irked me, perhaps in a way similar to how Ms. Bailey felt upon seeing the sequence in question, was how Bailey wants the sequence to be cut.

News::Presspauseradio's Quarter Circle Forward Review: Payday 2

"On the tails of Left 4 Dead, pure multiplayer co-op experiences have risen again and won over the hearts of gamers with unique campaign games. Suffice to say these types of games have a lot of potential. However, the unfortunate fates decided that many games after Left 4 Dead tended to continue the path of non-stop shooting instead of exploring the new crazy ideas this potential could offer. There's nothing wrong with pure-action experiences, but sometimes you just end up craving for something moresomething more... criminal... Well Payday 2 seems to be the answer to this. With exciting gameplay and almost cinematic mechanics, this game has had me more interested in FPS multiplayer games, than I ever had been, and made me wonder why we haven't seen this type of game everywhere else by now." -Presspauseradio.com

News::NVIDIA GeForce GTX 750 TI May Feature Maxwell Architecture Arriving in February 2014

The NVIDIA GeForce GTX 750 Ti has leaked on several occasions in the past but it was never launched. My best guess would be that NVIDIA canned the card since the GK106 architecture failed to live up to the performance expectations and NVIDIA had to go back to the drawing board. Its still odd of NVIDIA to use the GeForce 700 series branding for the GeForce GTX 750 Ti whereas every new generation of GPU architecture gets a totally brand new naming scheme hence the Maxwell series should have been called GeForce 800 series. NVIDIA is currently using the GeForce 800 series branding on the mobility lineup.
