News::Another map, local multiplayer planned for Goat Simulator

Fans have been asking Coffee Stain Studios for Goat Simulator DLC and I can see why: what's there is tremendously funny, goofy stuff but there isn't a ton of it. We're in luck. The studio doesn't want to "charge for new content" so it'll have a free patch for us in mid-May.

Patch 1.1 introduces another playable map that's "roughly the size of the original map," local splitscreen multiplayer, more achievements, and new goats, to name a few of the additions.

Mods have helped extend the life of Goat Simulator but they're not all going to meet expectations set by the core game. Another map from Coffee Stain is exactly what I wanted.

News::Up Up Down Down: Yaiba: Ninja Gaiden Z

GameZone: "What happens when you get former Mega Man designer Keiji Inafune and his company Comcept and team them up with Team Ninja? Apparently, you get a delightfully wacky zombie game set in the Ninja Gaiden universe. Yaiba: Ninja Gaiden Z is heavy on the hack-and-slash action, dripping with (entertainingly) asinine adult humor, and filled with ridiculous moments. Unfortunately, a number of imperfections rear their ugly heads all too often. Even then, Ninja Gaiden Z is good, goofy fun."

Avoiderdragon: Being able to paint your own picture or write your own story is something that games have always tried to tap into throughout time. Its not just a matter of choice, but also an appeal to ones creativity for coming up with a players own unique experience. Its an ever-elusive light at the end of the tunnel that developers will pursue for eternity, and the journey has resulted in some pretty good titles that have memorable narratives. The Yawhg is one of those games, and its worth playing through even though a lot of people would think that its not even much of a game to begin with.

News::"We had a really clear vision" for Alien: Isolation

Gamereactor caught up with Creative Assembly's Al Hope and found out more about Alien: Isolation, and what the studio is hoping to achieve by venturing into the depths of the survival horror genre. "From the outset, the reason we made the game was it felt like no-one had taken advantage of Alien," Hope told us when we mentioned the renaissance currently underway in the survival horror genre. "No-one had made the game we wanted to play... I think that first film, there's a natural overlap into survival horror, so it's kind of like the original survival horror. It just felt very natural for us to be recreating that experience and putting you in that space where just one alien could be a really meaningful and exciting and scary experience."

Anyway, Planet Explorers is another sandbox-ish game hoping to take the Minecraft ascetic into the full third dimension, rather than a world of obvious voxels. Getting onto Metacritic is a particularly effective means of promoting a sites image and a good or sometimes just sensational enough review will pull site hits like you cannot believe.
