News::Kotaku 'Shop Contest: Excavated Extra-Terrestrials: The Winners!
Last week's discovery of the for-some-reason-fabled E.T. landfill was so exciting I completely forgot it happened. Imagine my surprise as I prepare to post the winners of last week's 'Shop Contest and discover 20 million entries based on the subject. Luckily for my sanity, there can be only a couple dozen.

News::A better look at Threezero's Titanfall figures
Threezero teased their upcoming Titanfall figure line, and now they've released actual images. The shots come from Thailand Toy Expo, and we get to see a clear image of the Atlas Titan along with a Pilot. The Atlas comes in at 20.5", with the Pilot at 6".
The pilot still needs to be painted, but all in all I'm digging the look for both designs. It's especially cool considering toys were what inspired Titanfall's gameplay design, as detailed in Geoff Keighley's The Final Hours of Titanfall app. Check out Threezero's Facebook for more shots of the figures.

Desktop computers aren't just antiquated behemoths quietly gathering dust in your parent's house. They also offer an often overlooked processing resource for mobile users and a viable alternative to cloud-based storage. All you need is a means of accessing it remotely.

News::The best boss fights involve getting picked on by someone your own size
[Dtoid community blogger Wrenchfarm shares some of his favorite battles with bosses who can kick your ass without being the size of a building.Want to see your own blog appear on our front page? Go write something! --Mr Andy Dixon]
Bosses are cheap. They tower above your itty-bitty character, just as likely to kill you with a fatal boot stomping as they are likely to erase you with the BFG-GodMode2000 hanging off their arm. They use insane attacks, crazy bullet-hell stuff, turning the screen into a latticework of nasty-nasty-death-murder. They have a legion of flunkies at their disposal, ready and willing to throw their lives away in a human wave attack just to dull your sword or waste your ammo. They've got the dungeon all rigged up with traps, hazards, and bondage straps -- just for you of course. Bosses are cheap as hell.
Except when they're not.
You don't see them too often, but there are some bosses out there who don't need all the pageantry and special gimmicks to make you squeal. There are are few pure badasses out there who can take you on at your own level and beat you. These guys aren't huge, they don't have an arsenal of overpowered fusion cannons, they have abilities and attacks comparable to you. Basically they play by the same rules -- they're just better.
Who doesn't love a good clean fight? These bosses are almost always the most memorable and special. I've come across a few, but here are some of my favorites.

News::Report: Neversoft no more, merging with Infinity Ward
Whether you played it or not, most gamers out there grew up with the Tony Hawk games around them. They were hugely popular during the PlayStation 1 and Nintendo 64 era, and I'll never forget developer Neversoft's freaky little eye monster logo.
The Tony Hawk studio has since been turned into a Call of Duty co-developer, and as Giant Bomb reports, Neversoft is being merged into Infinity Ward. Giant Bomb obtained a memo written by CEO of Activision Publishing Eric Hirshberg, where he stated that after Call of Duty: Ghosts development, "it became clear that the two studios have very complementary skill sets. Between these two excellent studios, it seemed like a single 'super-studio' could emerge."
And that's what's happening. The new studio will keep the Infinity Ward name, with the Neversoft name is being retired. Current executive VP of worldwide studios, Dave Stohl, has been assigned to lead the new super-studio.
From the Neversoft side, studio head and co-founder Joel Jewett, and studio director Scott Pease, will be retiring from the games industry after 20 years in the business. They'll remain with the new studio during the transition period, and are expected to leave later this year.
