News::What is Assassin's Creed: Rising Phoenix?

Earlier this year, an image for a project called "Assassin's Creed: Rising Phoenix" was uncovered, which Ubisoft promptly denied involvement in. Many speculated that this was a PlayStation Vita game with a release date of October 10th, but considering that date came and went, nothing really came out of it -- until one gamer uncovered a hidden image in Assassin's Creed IV with the same exact logo font.

If this is real (and not a joke by Ubisoft), it could be anything. Perhaps it's another animated tie-in short like Embers , or a side-story for the Vita like Liberation . Now that I've played through Black Flag, I can see clearly now that the area is supposed to be a lower level of the new Abstergo Entertainment facility, so it's also possible that it will tie-in Assassin's Creed IV and the inevitable V in some way through a modern era story.

In case you haven't heard, Metal Gear Solid V will be broken up into two games -- Ground Zeroes, and Phantom Pain. The latter will be the "meat and potatoes" of the package, but with the former, we now have a ton of new info.

According to Konami, Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes will be launching in spring 2014 on the PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360, and Xbox One. The pricing model is interesting, as Konami is charging $29.99 for a retail version, and $19.99 for a current-gen (PS3, 360) download. The PS4 and Xbox One versions however will yield a $29.99 download price.

News::New video looks at app snapping on the Xbox One

A new video has surfaced that gives us a look at how the Xbox One dashboard will work -- specifically, it demonstrations how to "snap apps." What this does essentially is it allows you to have an app running on the side while you're playing a game, like Internet Explorer (for walkthroughs), or companion videos.

In the demonstration, the user switches between different apps like the Game DVR and IE, and snaps it to the side of the game he's playing (in this case, Battlefield 4). The key takeaway from this is that the entire UI is running very quickly, about on par with what Microsoft demonstrated back during E3. In particular, I really like how fast it feels to go back and forth between the game and the dashboard.

GR - "Call of Duty will always have its detractors, but I'm proud to say that I'm not one of them. A franchise that has sold over 125 million units (and counting) and one with a fan base of players who have racked up a, frankly alarming, 1.6 billion hours of online play on Modern Warfare 3 alone, is bound to attract the ire of many. EG:Originally planned as a remake of KOGs other MMO Grand Chase, Elsword was originally hated when it first released back in 2011.
