There's just no keeping the undead hordes down. Texas-based Subsurface Games has announced a new zombie survival game is in the works as the developer asks for $60,000 through Kickstarter. It's a procedural FPS in an open world. It's simply called Survive. We'll awaken in a random house in a procedurally generated world, and we'll have to hit the ground running in search of food, shelter and of course some firepower.

GeekParty's Tim Evans writes, "Its obvious that Advanced Warfare was designed from the ground up to echo the successes that Modern Warfare found when it launched in the last console generations toddler years. It has not only achieved that goal but gone a step further. It might be - pardon the pun - a real game-changer."

News::CeX Review- The Evil Within

Denis Murphy writes- The scariest game I played during my early years of gaming was Resident Evil back in 1996. From the moment the Stars team entered the creepy old mansion, Wesker going missing, the dog jumping through the window, and the part in which you're locked in a room while the ceiling is slowly coming down on top of you, Resident Evil scared the crap out of me.

News::How Does Sexual Content Fit Into The World Of Video Games?

Nintendo partners with Playboy to promote Bayonetta. Twitch bans sexualized clothing and a lack of clothing from its broadcasters. Critics call out sex scenes in games as unacceptable. The list goes on and on. Outside of violence, sexual content in video games is arguably one of the form of entertainments most criticized features. Is there any hope of reaching a consensus on sexual standards in gaming?

News::Gabriel Knight: Sins of the Fathers Review | SelectButton

SelectButton: "Overall the game has a great story, which I believe makes this game a classic, if you desire to play a traditional point-and-click adventure. Puzzles are frustrating and challenging at the same time, but thanks to the hint system, you dont have to feel lost for long. As a remake of a 20 year old game, the remake makes slight modern changes to the formula, but be prepared for a largely old-school adventure experience."

News::Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor Review | SelectButton

SelectButton: "Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor is an absolute blast to play. The gameplay builds off of the successes of Batman and Assassins Creed and weaves a story through the world of LotR that connects very well within the framework of the overall universe. Its a title that I definitely recommend picking up since youll certainly enjoy it if you do."

SelectButton: "While I havent had a joystick for the PC since the early 90s, Elite: Dangerous may be the game that will put me over the edge and pull the trigger on a new Thrustmaster HOTAS setup. Currently, I have both tested the mouse and keyboard control scheme, as well as using a PlayStation 4 controller. Both feel responsive, but I will give the edge to a mouse and keyboard setup. Either way, you will want to print out the key mapping for the game ahead of time for easy access."

Pokémon Keyboard Won't Catch All Your Typos

You might think this Pokemon keyboard design, which swaps out the letters with tiny pictures of Pokemon, is the least practical keyboard ever made. News::Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare review - IBTimes

Edward Smith of IBTimes says: "In my time as a reviewer for IBT, I've always tried to find the best in AAA titles. Even the most corporate, hedonistic, carefree games contain, I like to believe, some small signs of progress, a mechanic or line of dialogue which intonate that at least a developer is trying. "But Advanced Warfare is completely backward. It's emblematic of what videogames were ten, maybe 15 years ago, back when story and action existed in vacuums and all that mattered was spectacle."

News::I didn't make it all the way through the Halo 2 documentary

343 and Run Studios' hour-long Halo 2: Anniversary documentary is now up on YouTube.

I enjoyed the first 20 minutes, a nostalgic look at the original game and its sequel with fun behind-the-scenes tidbits sprinkled throughout. There's an anecdote from series composer Marty O'Donnell about how he secretly got John Mayer to play guitar on the Halo 2 soundtrack. (What?)

The documentary then shifts its attention to the extensive work that's gone into Halo 2: Anniversary. That's around when I began to lose interest, but I did get a kick out of the scenes with the Foley artists (30 minutes in) and, as a huge fan of The Thing and They Live, seeing actor Keith David again. Those red glasses! Worth watching if you know your Halo well.

News::Q.U.B.E. (PC) Review - Cubed3

Cubed3: "Q.U.B.E. has earned itself a reputation for being a poor man's Portal, which is fitting, but sounds like a harsher criticism than it is. After all, if a game is going to be a poor man's anything, Portal is one of the best possible subjects for imitation. That said, the comparison is actually pretty shallow; the only thing the two games have in common is that they are both first-person puzzle games set in sterile-looking environments. The game mechanics of Q.U.B.E. are significantly different, instead focusing on several types of colour-coded blocks whose unique properties must be manipulated by the player in order to reach each area's exit. For the most part, this gameplay works wonderfully."

News::PS Plus subscribers: Don't forget to download The Binding of Issac: Rebirth

I'm seeing people hate on this month's PlayStation Plus lineup. Others, like me, are fond of it. What do you think? In both North America and Europe, we're getting:

  • The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth (PS4 / PS Vita)

  • SteamWorld Dig (PS4 / PS Vita)

  • Frozen Synapse Prime (PS3)

  • Luftrausers (PS3 / PS Vita)

  • Escape Plan (PS4 / PS Vita

  • The Hungry Horde (PS Vita)

Some nice games in there (I'm a huge fan of SteamWorld) but, uh, Binding of Isaac -- you're gonna want to go into seclusion and play that for the entirety of November. Bring tea.

Bonus: the European PlayStation Blog has divulged some more upcoming PS Plus games. Expect Injustice Ultimate Edition and Secret Ponchos in December, and inFamous: First Light and The Swapper in January. Also DriveClub PS Plus Edition , assuming Evolution gets its stuff together.
