News::The Chaos Engine Review | Gaming Nexus

Back in 1993, GamePro magazine claimed that The Chaos Engine's (renamed Solider of Fortune for American audiences) overhead gunfighting had "never played better" and that it's a "fun fight to the finish." GamePro wasn't alone, as pretty much every critic working in the early 1990s raved about this tough-as-nails action game. Sega Power went as far as to name it the best game of 1993, ahead of some truly tough competitors.

News::PES 2014 Review | PlayTm

There once was a time when Pro Evolution Soccer really gave FIFA a run for its money. In recent years though a resurgent EA Sports has all but relegated the PES franchise to the bench. Konami aren't ready to hang up their boots yet and last year's PES effort showed that the series could still be a worthy alternative to the behmoth that EA Sports' FIFA franchise has become.

News::Batman Arkham Origins Multiplayer : Great Innovation Or Tacked On Extra?

Mark of Corrupted Cartridge writes "In the past few days Ive read a lot of new news about the multiplayer portion of the next Batman game thats due to be released next month. When this mode was first announced I wasnt sure how the developer Splash Damage, who are in charge of the multiplayer part of the next game, would make a multiplayer mode that was actually worth playing. News::Strider Hands-On: Faster than Ever

Siliconera: The very first thing I noticed in Strider worried me: I couldnt use the D-pad to move. It was analog only. I checked the pause menu for a toggle, and even asked the attendant, but there was no way to move digitally. However, when I started moving Hiryu around, my worries melted away. Hes fast. Faster than he is in Strider 2. Its not just his speed that gives this impression, but the fact that certain things that felt a little bit jarring about older Strider games have been smoothed out. For instance, the time between the end of Hiryus slide and his return to quick movement has been decreased. Whereas a slide would lead to a brief stop in Strider 1 and 2, that delay is gone.

News::Games Move Forward but CS is Where GES Have Been

"This day and age there are so many different games and gaming genres that have flooded the market that it is increasingly difficult to decide what to play and when. The FPS games really have taken it up to another level over the last year though making the games ever more realistic and full of eye catching graphics. But, as they say, we would not be where we are today without having to have gone through our past. (Obvious right?) This week whilst formatting my computer and whilst reinstalling all my programs, there sat a Counter-strike icon on the desktop and we decided to play a little. What we found however wasn't just a game that was enjoyable for a little respite, but something altogether different. It was like finding a lost friend that one hasnt seen for months or years. In the beginning youre a little apprehensive, but it doesn't take long till you click right back into the old mode you were in whilst still close friends. We decided to share with you why Counterstrike...

News::Mac Gamer HQ reviews BioShock Infinite on Mac

Mac Gamer HQ writes: "BioShock Infinite is without a doubt one of the best Mac games this year and easily won a place in my personal Top 10 Mac games ever. Overall, this was definitely an ambitious attempt on behalf of Irrational Games and Im glad to confirm they pulled it off. They truly created an amazing universe you will want to discover. The story alone is one hell of a ride and the fact you experience it alongside Elizabeth makes it even better. Luckily, the gameplay mechanics, sound and graphics managed to keep up, making this whole experience all the more immersive. Aspyr also deserves a word, as they managed to bring this experience to the Mac with no performance sacrifices. I cant wait to see what both Irrational Games and Aspyr will bring us next."

News::Dark Souls 2 Beta Impressions: Prepare to multiplayer edition

GameZone's Andrew Clouther writes, "First off and perhaps most importantly, prepare to get invaded. While you were in your hollow form in Dark Souls you were protected from players entering your world to attempt to murder your very existence. This wont be the case in the sequel. Thats right, in both human and hollow form, other players can invade you. So unless you unplug your internet for an offline experience, get ready for sporadic PvP encounters."

News::iBuyPower's Ultra-Thin Battalion M1771 Breaks Gaming Laptop Stereotypes

Maximum PC: The gaming category is one of the last frontiers for thin and light form factors in the mobile space, and if iBuyPower's new Battalion MS1771-1 and MS1771-2 are any indication, gamers needn't worry about lugging around big and heavy laptops. Despite wielding 17.3-inch Full HD 1080p (1920x1080) displays, these Battalion systems are billed as "ultra-thin," with iBuyPower claiming they're the thinnest 17-inch gaming laptops around.
