News:: Indie hit 'Besiege' is adding online machine-making duels

The war machine construction game Besiege has been a darling of Steam's Early Access scene, and for good reason: its extremely flexible building block system has let people's imaginations run wild. You've had to play solo, though, which sometimes makes it hard to show off your creations. Spiderling Games is about to throw the gates wide open, though. The developer is prepping a Multiverse update that, as the name suggests, adds online play. As many as 8 builders can join in, whether it's to compete against each other or to team up on challenges. And you won't be limited to the challenges that ship with the game, either.

News:: Gearbox announces new partnership with guy in oversized trench coat (Fauxclusive)

Following the demise of its poorly planned deal with gray market reseller G2A, Gearbox announced today any new partnerships the company makes will only be with retailers that are on the complete up-and-up, such as its new deal with a guy on a street corner wearing an oversized trench coat.

A Gearbox spokesperson said the publisher had learned its lesson with the G2A debacle and will now properly vet its retailer partners. The spokesperson said the company decided to go with the shifty man who just stands on a street corner for hours at a time wearing a big coat no matter what the weather after their uncle totally vouched for him.

"You want Bulletstorm, I got Bulletstorm," said the man in the trench coat as he anxiously looked around for the fuzz. "I'll give you two for 50, three for 65, two for 50, three for 65. What else you want? You want Battleborn? I got Battleborn. I got another 55 coats full of Battleborn. Can't move it. I'll give you 20 Battleborn for a dollar."

Gearbox says if the partnership works out, it may develop other exclusive deals with a guy who sells stuff out of a trunk or a guy who only does business in the dark corner of a bar.

News:: Gag ransomware forces you to play an anime shooter game

A typical ransomware takes your files hostage in exchange for money, but "Rensenware" asks for something else. It forces you to play an anime-type shooter game called Touhou Seirensen (Undefined Fantastic Object) and score 0.2 billion points in Lunatic mode. Based on what we've seen of the gameplay, some of you might wish your computers were infected with ransomware that ask for a reasonable amount of cash instead. Rensenware, which was first spotted by the Malware Hunter Team, was created as a joke.

News:: Weekend deals: Bulletstorm: Full Clip and cheap Bethesda PC games

On Friday, April 5 Bulletstorm: Full Clip Edition went live on Steam for $49.99. This remaster with added content is getting a release discount for PC gamers at DLGamer with a $10 drop to $39.99. PC gamers are getting pampered even more with huge sales on Paradox Interactive and Bethesda titles this weekend. New low on Dishonored 2 and very attractive pricing on The Elder Scrolls Online Gold Edition makes this a sale worth checking out. With the recent release of DLC packs for Stellaris and Europa Universalis IV, GMG has discounts both titles plus DLC collection price breaks -- all the best prices online. A full breakdown of the sales can be seen in the PC game deals section below.

On the console side of discounts there's two hot bargains on Dell Home for the old Xbox One and new PS4 Slim. News:: So let's talk about Hainly Abrams from Mass Effect: Andromeda

Usually, when looking over my Dtoid emails, I'm content to watch the main staff do their thing. This includes controversial topics that I must later brace myself to help moderate alongside the rest of the community team, so it's rare that I hop from one side to the other. Still, when we're going to talk about the presentation of Hainly Abrams in Mass Effect: Andromeda, we're talking about BioWare misrepresenting the transgender community, which I am also part of.

Now, I often hear the term "pandering" tossed about when BioWare decides to create an LGBTQ character here and there. It's misused to the point I feel I have to pull out the Inigo Montoya meme each time I hear it. It does not mean what you think it means.

This content is not pandering to transgender players (nor has any LGBT content really been that), it's pandering to rather dated, faulty social expectations of trans people and BioWare felt that was inclusive. It isn't.
