It's only been a year or so since Tokyo Twilight Ghost Hunters first released, but now we've got Tokyo Twilight Ghost Hunters: Daybreak Special Gigs to deal with. Even taking into account the Japanese game industry's penchant for putting out enhanced rereleases of games, that's a rather quick turnaround.
Now the game is available on all extant PlayStation platforms, it it is worth picking up? Are the titular "daybreak" additions to the story and gameplay of the original enough to give Tokyo Twilight Ghost Hunters a bit more time in the sun?

BioWare and its parent company Electronic Arts have been pretty sparse with information about the upcoming Mass Effect: Andromeda. That's why it was such a big deal when Sony showed off some new footage during the PlayStation 4 Pro reveal last month. Though originally targeted for a holiday 2016 release, Andromeda officially got bumped to 2017 in March of this year. Since it's such a high profile game and has already been delayed, it's easy to see why neither EA or BioWare would want to commit to a release date just yet.
The Mass Effect series has a universe that can support media other than games, and there are several novels, comics and other media available for fans of the franchise. Dark Horse Comics has worked with BioWare in the past, and offers many officially licensed products with the Mass Effect name, including several comic collections set in their universe. As such, they're a natural fit to publish the series' official art book.
There's nothing strange about this, but the description of the book on Amazon may have revealed more than the publisher intended. As you can see here, the book is listed with a release date of March 21, 2017. Beneath this however, the blurb mentions that "Dark Horse will release The Art of Mass Effect: Andromeda simultaneously with the game!" This would place it on a Tuesday, the day of the week big games traditionally release.
Neither BioWare nor Dark Horse have commented on the slip, though I find it notable that the same book has a ship date of "Early 2017" when purchased through BioWare's company store. We'll probably find out for sure on November seventh, "N7 day" which BioWare uses to celebrate the Mass Effect franchise.

Earlier today, Jack ‘EternaLEnVy’ Mao published a nearly 7,500 word blog post accusing leadership within Team Secret of being, well, secretive about how it handled prize money, sponsorship deals, and a whole host of other financial matters. His remarks were archived here after the traffic they originally generated crashed his blog.
Whether it was at our party or at the show itself, this year’s Comic-Con had some absolutely fantastic cosplay on show. Here are some of the highlights.
As another wave of virtual reality technology breaks along the shore of humanity this week with PSVR, it’s only a matter of time until someone becomes the first person to die as a result of virtual reality. “We made some core decisions early on that we weren’t going to kill people.” That’s what Piers Jackson who worked on Rigs as part of Guerilla Games said this time last year.

Nintendo of America always had some kind of quirky promotional video to go along with its big releases in the '90s. I have fond childhood memories of playing the Star Fox 64 video and even the Donkey Kong Country one. Being a frequent visitor of a local Toys "R" Us, I tended to get these videos as the store was throwing them out. Ah, memories.
What we haven't seen a lot of is the Eastern side of things. Obviously Nintendo of Japan did some kind of promoting, but just what? Commercials aren't the only thing it had up its sleeves; an hour-long promo video was uploaded to Retro Edicola, an Italian website dedicated to retro gaming knowledge.
The title of the video is, "SUPER FAMICOM PERFECT VIDEO," and it was originally released to press outlets for the upcoming release of the Super Famicom in Japan. While there isn't much that any English speaking parties can get from the video, there is an insanely young Sakurai talking about the hardware. Honestly, he almost looks younger nowadays.

It's no well-kept secret that I'm a band teacher by day. I've worked with many different kids and various instruments putting together ensembles and creating gorgeous music for all to enjoy (I love what I do).
I've of course come to notice that within each section of instruments, there are very defining sets of personalities. I got to thinking to myself, "What exactly would our Destructoid staff be like if we were all performing in a band?" Well, based on my experiences, here's what I've got so far.

Ever since hearing this strange summary or some earlier iteration of it years ago, I have been on board with Thumper. The unnerving rhythm-action title is the work of a pair of former Rock Band developers, now at their own independent studio, Drool, and it is a remarkable game indeed.

At first I didn't understand her point, but through discussion, she helped me to see that from her perspective, anything that depersonalizes the ideally emotional and empathy fueled act of sexual affection only works to encourage the idea that women are things to be possessed and not people to be related with.
I wasn't going to tell her she was wrong, because that wouldn't have done much to help either of us get much wiser to what pornography can or can't be. Instead, we ended up looking into the subject together. After watching a few movies like The Opening of Misty Beethoven and the pornographic musical version of Alice in Wonderland, we both saw the topic in a different light. She began to draw a line between "pornography" and "erotic stories with explicit sex scenes", and I came to the conclusion that "Ripe mango, take two" is probably the last thing you ever want to say while performing oral sex on someone.
I wonder what my old friend would think of Udon's Street Fighter Swimsuit Special?
