News::PAX 14 - Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel is More of the Same but Not in a Terrible Way | Twinfinite

Twinfinite writes: In world filled with monsters, treasure, and Claptrap, it was slightly concerning how much different and out of the box Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel could be. Turns out space and all the nothing within it can add a new dimension to the series. It's enough to keep the franchise semi-fresh, but not really enough to convert people who hate the series.

News::Corsair Launches DDR4 Memory

News::Heroes of a Broken Land - PC Review | Chalgyr's Game Room

Chalgyr's Game Room writes: Well, I did not see this coming. With visuals and sound that feel like a throwback to a much older era of play, Heroes of a Broken Land surprised me by mixing and matching several styles into an all-new gaming experience. Visually it reminds of the old Heroes of Might and Magic turn-based games, with a hex-based overworld grid and incredibly simple graphics. Like kicking off a game of Civilization, you can pick the size of the world you want to create, which is then procedurally generated, like everything else. What follows are a dungeon crawling experience, played out on a turn-based hex map in between caverns, with a bit of city management thrown in for good measure. It is ambitious, and it works.

News::There's No 'Use' in Dex Trying to be Like Deus Ex | Hardcore Gamer

HG: Its fair to say that Deus Ex has inspired a lot of games, but few wear that inspiration quite as openly as Dex. Just being an exploration-driven cyberpunk RPG with a heavy emphasis on cybernetic augmentation and player choice would be enough to draw comparisons, but theres also the issue of the name. Dex is really just Deus Ex with half of the letters and most of the meaning taken out. Actually, now that I think of it, that totally-not-at-all-contrived sentence is a good way to describe the current state of this early access game.

News::Review: Sumo Omni Reloaded

Sumo products always tend to run on the pricey side, but they're perfect for people who have lots of room in their house, as they tend to hold up over time. No really, the bean bags are huge, and some people even have trouble moving them one room away.

That's why I wanted to check out the Omni Reloaded -- a flexible chair that could easily be transported from one gaming session to the next. I found that it's worthwhile, but still kind of pricey.

News::PAX 14 Dragon Age: Inquisitions Co-Op Isnt Quite What Youd Expect but Thats Okay (Twinfinite)

Alissa from Twinfinite writes: The multiplayer for Dragon Age: Inquisition was only announced recently, but BioWare isnt wasting time in exposing it to the world. Rather than take players through an open world campaign like one would expect from the Dragon Age series, the four player co-op mode coming to Inquisition runs players through a 5 level dungeon in search of loot and experience. While storytelling is central to the single player campaign, Inquisitions multiplayer focuses more on quick combat and dungeon crawling. Its the least Dragon Age-y experience you could imagine, but that doesnt mean it isnt fun.
