News::Titanfall Review: Making Moments - Error Not Found

Clint Prentice writes: "I thought I was done with multiplayer shooters. I was really into games like Call of Duty and Left 4 Dead, but at a certain point they stopped being fun for me. I thought Id never find a game that could give me that same rush again. Well, Titanfall is the most fun Ive had in a multiplayer shooter in quite a long time. It is entirely fresh and exciting. Its a fast-paced game full of adrenaline-pumping action. The more I talk about Titanfall, the more I type about Titanfall, the more it sounds like Im running a PR campaign on the game, with the amount of glowing things I have to say about it that just so happen to sync up with specific bullet points Respawn has been hitting since the game was announced. I cant help it. Titanfall is a little rough around the edges, but its great fun."

News::Titanfall review - LogiaGamer

The original creators of Call of Duty are shipped with their first game of new generation. Titanfall receives excellent ratings from the press, and has the honor of having negative scores. What makes it so good? Its main strength is its balanced multiplayer gameplay, which according to the reviews, offers something different to the saturated genre of first-person shooters, as the system to control the Titans works very well, in addition to the parkour movements. Another point is flattered design and variety of maps, which offer much content with their variety of weapons.

News::South Park: The Stick Of Truth Review | GamingLives

GamingLives takes a look at the much-delayed and slightly controversial RPG from Obsidian in its new home with Ubisoft: "While Stick of Truth isnt a masterpiece, I never stopped having fun with it. That counts for a lot and if I were reviewing the game for me alone itd probably score higher. It might not be to everyones taste though and it does have some potential shortcomings. That said, it captures the qualities of the TV show perfectly adding a lot of value for the fans out there."

News::Titanfall at 792p resolution, 'likely to increase' post launch

Oh it's another resolution story. How great.

Speaking with Digital Foundry, Respawn lead engineer Richard Baker told the site that Titanfall for the Xbox One launches at 792p resolution. Richard stated that Respawn has "been experimenting with making [the resolution] higher and lower," and that there's likely going to be an increase after the game ships.

"We're going to experiment. The target is either 1080p non-anti-aliased or 900p with FXAA. We're trying to optimise... we don't want to give up anything for higher res. So far we're not 100 per cent happy with any of the options, we're still working on it. For day one it's not going to change. We're still looking at it for post-day one."

News::Power Nerd: Hands-on with The Last Tinker 'City of Colors'

The Last Tinker: City of Colors drops players into the platform-hopping shoes of Koru, an agile, free-running simian tasked with returning Colortown to its previous greatness. Its an adventure that creates a strong impression from the outset, evoking the PS Vitas Tearaway with its vibrant world and whimsical characters. Possibly designed for those sick of the muted colours found in todays more realistic titles, the game goes all out when it comes to presentation, which may well turn out to be its greatest selling point.

News::Resident Evil 4's awesome reloads: 16 GIFs from RE4 HD

PC Gamer: "Leon S. Kennedy doesn't just blow the heads off of zombies and Ganados like a boss. He reloads his guns like a boss, tooand he was doing it before flashy reloads were cool. Shooters released since Resident Evil 4 have added progressively more detailed animations to their gun reloads, but Capcom set a high bar for reloads in 2005. There's something incredibly tactile about the way Leon slams a new round into the bolt-action rifle. And when he whip-cracks open the Broken Butterfly, violently jams new rounds into it, and slams it shut...well, at that point he's just showing off. After playing through the new HD port of Resident Evil 4, I decided to capture Leon's dramatic reload animations in high quality GIF form."

News::The Raven: Legacy of a Master Thief - Review | ReviewMango

Point-and-click adventure games have become something of an art form unto themselves. Its a genre based on logical thought and delicately balanced pace, making them a go-to niche for the thinking gamer interested in a well-told story. But few of them have made a graceful transition from PC, the genres platform of origin, to consoles. The reason is obvious: keyboard-and-mouse control schemes are often too complex to map to a standard two-handed controller. This caveat is solidified in the PlayStation 3 version of The Raven: Legacy of a Master Thiefbut, fortunately, the game excels in other areas to overcome its control crutch.

News::The man behind Lamar from GTA V to become Black Jesus

This is TOTALLY barely even videogame related at all but I still wanted to write about it because Lamar from Grand Theft Auto V was one of my favorite characters from a videogame last year. So I'm happy to see Gerald "Slink" Johnson continuing to see success, and in this case it's with Adult Swim's new show, Black Jesus.

The premise of the show sees Jesus (played by Gerald) living in present day Compton "on a daily mission to spread love and kindness throughout the neighborhood with the help of his small but loyal group of downtrodden followers." The show will also star Charlie Murphy, Corey Holcomb, and John Witherspoon, and will premiere later this year.

No footage or anything to share yet, but here's the clip that made me love Lamar from GTA V at least.

News::Most Anticipated of 2014 - The Evil Within | OnlySP

OnlySP: The horror genre in videogames has gone through massive changes in the past few years. The iconic horror series Resident Evil has diminished due to its increased focus on action, but the popularity of first-person survival horror has gone through the roof thanks to the likes of Slender and Amnesia, as well the explosion of playthroughs for such titles on YouTube. However, The Evil Within looks to bring horror back to its roots and become the spiritual sequel to Resident Evil 4 youve always wanted. Borrowing elements from that game and the horrifically twisted designs of Silent Hills monsters, The Evil Within looks set to bring classic terror to next-gen and is one of OnlySPs Most Anticipated of 2014.
