News::Wii U v3.0.0 update is live! OMG NO MORE OVERSCAN!!!

The Wii U version 3.0.0 update went live a short while ago, introducing a host of fixes and other significant tweaks. Of all the new features introduced, the one I'm most excited about is NO MORE OVERSCAN!!! WOOOOOOO!

That may sound like such a minor thing to be bothered by, but it bugged me personally to no end. Having the edges of the screen cut off and possibly missing out on important information just outside of my view? Balls to that! Unfortunately, my TV is such that I couldn't manually adjust for overscan, leaving me to pray that Nintendo would eventually address this issue.

Consider this problem addressed! A new TV settings option allows you to scale the size of your picture should your TV be among those that were held back a few years in school. Previously, this tweak was only available within certain apps like the Miiverse and the Internet browser, but now you can apply the changes on a universal level -- you can see the before and after comparisons in the gallery. After being told several times I should suck it up and buy a new TV, I feel vindicated.

Bone up on the rest of the changes further down.

News::CGM Reviews: Fallen Enchantress: Legendary Heroes

Let's just get this first part out of the way before going any further: Fallen Enchantress: Legendary Heroes strongly resembles Civilization. Stardock Entertainment's fantasy flavoured strategy game has liberally borrowed from the classic franchise's mechanics, visual style and even its user interface to the point where "homage" seems too light a descriptor. Fortunately Fallen Enchantress introduces a few elements that innovate on the Civilization formula and set the game (slightly) apart from Sid Meier's brainchild.

News::GameInformer- Poker Night 2 Review

GI:Creating a poker game with a compelling hook is surely a difficult task. Hardcore players who love the thrill of betting real money have plenty of options in real casinos or on a wide variety of online gambling sites. Casual players simply interested in the fun of the game have plenty of free or cheap options. Telltales approach is markedly different than anything else; rather than luring gamers in with a bevy of multiplayer options or the potential of real payoffs, Poker Night 2 (like its predecessor) relies on the personalities of several memorable characters. The actual poker action is unremarkable, but charm is the main draw.

News::DGR Helps You Find Things in Defiance That Defiance Wont Help You Find

One of the neat little things about Defiance are the Contracts and Data Recorder sprinkled around the world, ready to feed your EGO. The problem is, the game itself doesn't give you a ****ing clue on where to find any of these things. With the fairly large size of Defiance's world, many Ark Hunters, including myself, have to scramble to find those oh so exciting Youtube tutorial videos that take 15 minutes to show you all of the item and mission locations whenever a new one is released in-game. Thankfully, MMO blogger Etaew felt our pain, and created a special section in his blog dedicated to pinpoint those hidden items in Defiance.

From Strategyinformer: "The problem with giving a running franchise to another team is that theres always a possibility that the game that the new team makes may not feel anything like the previous games. Such is possibly the case with Lost Planet 3. Its not that Spark arent doing a good job so far theres quite a few plus points that Ill go into in a bit but whilst Lost Planet 1 & 2 felt like a Japanese Anime pretending to be a western third-person shooter game, Lost Planet 3 just feels like a western third-person shooter game.
