News::Game Dev Tycoon Review | Lead Example

Greenheart Games the creators of Game Dev Tycoon pulled a memorable stunt with its release, they themselves leaked a cracked version of their game to several major torrent sites, but with a twist. Hilariously, in a game which simulates the journey of moving from your garage programming Commodore 64 games to assembling the biggest self publishing AAA developer on the planet, they added code into the illegal versions which caused piracy to destroy a players company after the first couple of in game years.

News::Saints Row's dildo bat is a weapon in Shadow Warrior

For all of the time we've spent talking about it, Destructoid readers should be familiar with Saints Row: The Third's "The Penetrator," aka that dildo baseball bat. I'd say it's back, but it never truly left. The infamous melee weapon will make an appearance in Flying Wild Hog's upcoming Shadow Warrior remake -- check below for a look at it in action.

The Penetrator will unlock for Steam owners of Saints Row IV once Shadow Warrior releases later this week on the platform. More than any other story, a quote from Devolver Digital CFO Fork Parker feels perfectly warranted. "I'm sorry I can't really hear you over the sound of all that money being thrown at screens around the world," he said.

So this is what happens when Deep Silver and Devolver team up. Sounds about right.

News::This is what next month's Battlefield 4 beta looks like

The way I see it, it wouldn't be Battlefield without a beta. In recent years, I've transitioned into becoming more of a casual player of the series and, like with Battlefield 3, my experience with the new game, at least early on, might be entirely based on what's in the BF4 beta.

It'll be here before we know it. The beta kicks off for everyone on October 4, 2013 (Xbox 360, PC, PlayStation 3) but those who pre-order the Digital Deluxe edition of Battlefield 4 on PC, are a BF3 Premium member, or are a registered owner of Medal of Honor Warfighter's Limited or Digital Deluxe edition will gain entry on October 1.

As for modes and maps, it's Conquest and Domination on the Siege of Shanghai. Here's a quick runthrough of the content from DICE.

News::Grand Theft Auto V's 3-volume soundtrack now available

Rockstar has released The Music of Grand Theft Auto V soundtrack over on iTunes. The three albums can be bought for $9.99 each, or $24.99 for all three albums consisting of 59 tracks.

Volume 1 contains all the original music created by various artists including Wavves, The Creator, and more. Volume 3 features tracks you may have already heard of from artists like Bootsy Collins, Flying Lotus, and more. Plus there's snippets from all 17 in-game radio stations included.

The album I care about the most is Volume 2, comprised of the original score. This is a first for the series, and just like Max Payne 3's soundtrack these songs are dynamic and responsive to the player's actions within the missions and the open world.

I've been listing to Volume 2 all day over on Spotify, and can't get enough of them. The original score added so much to Grand Theft Auto V's missions, especially the heists.
