News::Team behind 'Shadow Moses' to focus on 'Metal Gear' VR museum

Shadow Moses was intended to be a Metal Gear Solid fan remake, but development came to a halt last month over copyright issues. As a result, the group behind that project, iRam Gamer, has now shifted focus to creating a virtual reality museum honoring the franchise. Called The Fan Legacy: Metal Gear Solid, its designers are quick to label the VR experience as unofficial and non-profit. Still, given how the situation with Shadow Moses played out, there's a chance Konami won't feel appreciative. If all goes according to plan, though, iRig Gamer hopes to release The Fan Legacy: Metal Gear Solid in May.

News::'Quantum Break' is a legitimate reason to buy an Xbox One

Almost three years after the Xbox One's debut, it's getting its biggest and arguably first real exclusive. Quantum Break won't be available on other consoles, it isn't a sequel, nor is it multiplayer-only. It's the latest game from Remedy Entertainment, the studio behind the Max Payne and Alan Wake franchises. And it couldn't come at a better time for Microsoft, either: In a matter of weeks PlayStation 4 owners will have Ratchet and Clank and Uncharted 4: A Thief's End, and Wii U owners get Star Fox Zero. If Xbox One didn't have an exclusive of its own right now, it'd be the odd console out.

Good thing, then, that it's Remedy's best game yet and the Xbox One finally has a AAA showcase for what it's capable of.

Final Fantasy XV has to be perfect. After a decade of develpoment hell, a name change from Versus XIII to XV, a complete mechanical overhaul and a director swap, die-hard series fans aren't just hungry for the game; they're reeling.

Many players who were excited about Final Fantasy Versus XIII as teenagers remain interested in Final Fantasy XV as adults. After all, the Final Fantasy series debuted in 1987 and played a pivotal role in plenty of fans' young lives. News::Stream Android games to Twitch without a smartphone

Twitch committed to mobile gaming in a big way by sponsoring a Vainglory tournament and it's making streaming easier by partnering with Bluestacks. As a reminder, Bluestacks makes an Android emulator for PC (or Mac) that lets you run most any mobile app or game on the desktop. The new venture, called Bluestacks TV, goes both ways. First off, you'll be able to watch selected Twitch streams on Bluestacks, as if you were watching a Twitch Stream on mobile. At the same time, mobile game broadcasters will be able to stream directly to Twitch via the Bluestacks emulator without using a smartphone.

News::Group of 10- to 14-year-olds win $15,000 playing 'Minecraft'

If your kids are going to play video games anyway, then you may want to make sure they're really good at it. Why? Well, take for example this group of grade and middle school kids from Maryland who got a $15,000 shared college scholarship for winning the second Super League Gaming World Championship in Minecraft. Super League Gaming is a four-week league wherein participants play games in theaters. The 10- to 14-year-old players calling themselves Live2Craft bested 450 other groups of all ages (mostly grade- to high school-aged, though) from 68 cities across the US.

News::Ubisoft breaks out the banhammer for 'The Division' cheaters

Ubisoft knows that cheating is running rampant in Tom Clancy's The Division and it's out to change that. Between hacks where enemy bullets can travel through walls to homing bullets, trying to enjoy the game the way its meant to be played is a bit fraught at the moment. But come the game's April 12th update, PC players, at least, will have platform-specific tools at their disposal to report the jerks according to a Ubisoft Twitch stream.

News::'Gears of War 4' hits Xbox One on October 11th

There's still a lot we don't know about Gears of War 4, but at least we finally have a release date: October 11th for the Xbox One. The game is set 25 years after the end of the last entry, and it stars Marcus Fenix's son, JD, along with a new crew of beefy soldiers. It's going to be the fresh start for the series in many ways -- the franchise is now under Microsoft's control instead of Epic Games, and it's being developed by its Vancouver-based subsidiary, The Coalition.
