News::Resident Evil was a difficult game to remaster in HD
With the rise of high-definition re-releases, many fans have likely made a wish list of titles they hope will eventually get the HD treatment. Whether they be classics from the '90s or 2000s, we're seeing a variety of games find new life in today's market. Unfortunately, not every title can make that transition to modern consoles, be it for technical or design reasons.
Thankfully, Resident Evil is an exception. During a special hands-on session with the game, I experienced what it was like to return the mansion in full HD, and even got to speak with members of Capcom staff to learn about the challenges they faced with Remastered.
They certainly had their work cut out for them.

News::If 50 Cent: Blood on the Sand were about Eminem, it might be like Deadpool
In this segment of our drunken 50 Cent: Blood on the Sand stream, I think we're mostly just getting drowsy. Max talks about the evolution of Eminem and I yell at my roommate for texting me about laundry during the stream.

News::53 Things We Just Learned About Super Smash Bros. Wii U
So Nintendo held a big Nintendo Direct tonight for Super Smash Bros. Wii U, and it basically laid out what we all suspected: this is going to be the definitive version.

News::Here's To You, Shadow of Mordor Orc With A Silly Name
By now, the internet's (somewhat immature) love of any Shadow of Mordor orc named "Dush" is well-known. But few people actually go through the trouble of making a full-on emotional tribute to Dush orcs, like hoodwinkedfool does.

News::Meaty turn-based RPG Pier Solar HD hits Wii U in November
WaterMelon's homebrew project Pier Solar and the Great Architects pushed the Sega Genesis to its limits as a new release in 2010 (!) which I thought was courageous, at the time. Still do. The game shipped on an actual cartridge, albeit one with higher-than-normal storage. Crazy!
The developer has since Kickstarted a high-def director's cut for modern systems, and some of those versions are only now trickling out. Pier Solar HD is available on PlayStation Network and Steam but for those of you wanting the Wii U release, hang in there -- it's set for November 6.
WaterMelon also sent over an image showing what's displayed on the GamePad screen, viewable below. Nothing too fancy but good to know, all the same.

News::Mewtwo Returns To The New Smash Bros. As A Downloadable Character
The most menacing Pokémon of all is back. Mewtwo won't be available for 'free' for everyone, however—only for players that purchase both the 3DS and Wii versions of Smash. And he won't be available right away, either.

News::Mewtwo will join Super Smash Bros. this spring
I didn't want to flood the page with mini Super Smash Bros. Wii U news updates out of Nintendo's live stream this afternoon, but, Mewtwo! He's coming to both games this spring.
If you register the 3DS and Wii U version of Smash, he'll be free to download. And with DLC finally confirmed, I wonder what else Nintendo has in store for us.
For those of you who either can't or won't watch the whole video, Steven's working on a recap now.

News::Ridley Is In Smash Bros. Wii U... But Not Playable
Yes, Ridley is in the Wii U version of Smash. No, he's not playable. But! You can get him to fight for you during a match, which I suppose is an OK compromise.

News::Eight-player battles in Super Smash Bros. Wii U, y'all
Are you watching this? Nintendo is streaming a 50-fact extravaganza for Super Smash Bros. on Wii U and they're really good facts, you guys. Offline eight-player battles are in!
These will be playable on select stages -- Palutena's Temple, Big Battlefield, to name two -- that are large enough to accommodate extra fighters. Five- and six-player Smash battles are in, too.
The stage based on Kirby Super Star's Great Cave Offensive looks so neat. Event mode is back, just as Steven and I had hoped. I'll never look at the 3DS version of Smash quite the same.
