News::The Lost Brothers Lords of the Fallen Boss Guide

James of Twinfinite writes " One thing that would really cement the idea that Lords of the Fallen is nothing more than a love-letter to the Souls series is the addition of a twin boss. For the uninitiated, this is a battle where you fight two enemies simultaneously in the hopes of meeting success above their corpses. Hell the idea would really be cemented if when one died the other gained its partners abilities. In the least surprising thing to happen in gaming since he announcement of another Call of Duty game, I would like to introduce you the Lost Brothers."

News::I didn't think I'd enjoy Bayonetta this much

Fighting angels as a witch dressed up like Samus Aran is fun way to spend an evening.

I'm several years late to playing Bayonetta , a game I might have never sought out had Nintendo and Platinum not packaged it in with its Wii U-exclusive sequel. I'm picky about which games I'm willing to drop $59.99, but two for the price of one? Can't turn that down.

I skipped Bayonetta's debut on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 in part because I'm not great at 3D action games. The amount of practice necessary for me to kick ass like the characters do in cutscenes isn't worth all the frustrating losses leading up to that point.

That's where my head was in 2010. I had beaten Ninja Gaiden II and Devil May Cry 4 a couple years prior, but my lingering memory of those titles was a general feeling of anger, not empowerment. I was stubborn enough to push through (the former game especially) because, well, I had already made it this far. There'd be no stopping now.

News::Advanced Warfare is the finest Call of Duty in years

The future, it seems, is now. When Modern Warfare impressed upon the world the grittiness of combat, its pin-sharp shooting smartly muddied by the sociopathy of its soldiers as they went about their wetwork with the glib efficiency of plumbers, its dust settled across an entire generation of shooters. Call of Duty moved on from one extreme to another, ending in a tangle of late Brosnan histrionics that reached a nadir with last year's Ghosts, while elsewhere the war has moved on to far-fetched sci-fi fantasies such as Titanfall or Destiny.

News::IGN - Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare Review

Brian Albert writes: "Simply throwing a robot suit onto Call of Duty could have been a lazy path to making Advanced Warfare seem different from what weve played before, but the way Sledgehammer has integrated its enhanced abilities and choices into every aspect of how we fight went above and beyond. By designing the levels in the campaign, co-op, and multiplayer to facilitate those new mechanics, Advanced Warfare is granted a weight and importance that changes how the fast-paced shooting action feels in all three modes. This is a Call of Duty game to its core, but one that rehashes as little as possible while still retaining its strengths."

News::Coin Crypt Review- Indie Games AAA

"In the end, my issues are minor, because Coin Crypt is so addicting and so satisfying. It scratches a good portion of my deck-building needs, while remaining fast and accessible. Games like Coin Crypt take existing genres and form them into something all their own. Some of them do it well, others fail miserably. Coin Crypt falls under the former and is a radiant success in game design. Although the deck-building felt slightly shallow at points, and the dropping of coins is counter-intuitive to one fundamental mechanic of the game, Coin Crypt remains the best roguelike released since Rogue Legacy."

News::Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare Review | CheatCC

CCC Says: "Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare was advertised as a brand new way to play Call of Duty, and that advertisement was right! When Activision flew me out to San Francisco to review the game, I wholly expected my opinion to fall in line with how I felt about past Call of Duty titles. The single-player would be OK but would really just be a side show to the main act of multiplayer. However, after playing the game, I have to say that my pre-conceived notions were flipped on their head. Instead, I was met with a multiplayer suite that was decently fun, but a single-player mode that was one of the best in Call of Dutys history."

News::Maybe You Don't Have to Hunt Monsters in Evolve After All

News::Madden Crusade was made in under an hour

Did you remember to adjust your clock(s) on Sunday? I just slept in as always. Some game designers used the end of daylight saving time as an excuse to, get this, be productive.

There's this thing called the 0h Game Jam in which developers make a game in under an hour. There isn't a theme. No real rules, either -- "just make a game, quick!" The results are strange.

Frog Fractions creator Jim Crawford made Madden Crusade for the jam and the concept cracked me up: "Guide your football team on a crusade across Eurasia to retrieve the Holy Grail and drop it into the Atlantic Ocean before time runs out! Your team will follow God's Truth, i.e. your mouse cursor, unless you are clicking in which case they will avoid God's Wrath, i.e. your mouse cursor."

Frankly, I'd like to see a big-budget adaptation. The industry could use more weird sports games.
