News::Valve uses 'Portal' robots to find out if your PC is VR-ready

In mere months we'll finally have two of the "big three" virtual reality headsets out in the market. While your bank account might be more than capable of writing the HTC Vive and Oculus Rift pre-order checks, can your PC's performance actually cash them? Valve has a test for that. The SteamVR Performance Test is just over two minutes long and takes place in a Portal-inspired non-interactive testing facility. Naturally.

News::'Carmageddon' comes to PS4 and Xbox One this year

Carmageddon enjoyed a brief (if imperfect) revival on PCs and mobile a few years ago, but what about living room gamers? Don't worry, you'll be covered soon. Stainless Games has revealed Carmageddon: Max Damage, an upcoming take on the car- and pedestrian-crushing racing game for the PS4 and Xbox One. The title promises a ton of things to do, including four online and six offline events, 30 vehicles, 10 open environments and 90 power-ups. However, the studio isn't shy about sticking to the series' core look-at-us-we're-controversial formula -- this is still about running over pedestrians in creative ways, and smashing into the occasional car while you're at it.

News::The After Math: Getting all of our ducks in a row

We're still a few years from the planets aligning again but you couldn't tell from this past week's news. People are paying zero for a weekend of PS4 multiplayers, the ESA discovered its first exoplanet with an atmosphere, Sprint's offering double the data as Verizon and this drummer has three arms. There's a pattern somewhere in there, I'm sure of it.

News::Halo's Arbiter is picking a fight in 'Killer Instinct'

If it's not Akuma in Tekken 7 or Cloud Strife in Smash Bros., now it's Halo's Arbiter who's coming to Killer Instinct. The addition was teased earlier this year at PAX South, but we finally get to see how the (once) Halo protagonist will look and fight. According to the teaser video, the Arbiter is bringing his rifle and glowey knife... thing to KI's rogues gallery on Xbox One and Windows 10 this March. Naturally, there's a Halo-themed staged coming too, as well as another character, Kim Wu. The third season will, naturally, include a bunch of balancing tweaks and adjustments to ensure that everyone gets a fair fight. Or at least close to one.
