Microsoft demonstrated the "next-generation" SmartGlass during its E3 2013 press conference. The tech allows plays to start a single-player game, set up multiplayer, look at Achievements, and more from their mobile device.
Ryse 's Timeline feature was shown, providing an all-encompassing glimpse of a level. SmartGlass lets users see real-time stat comparisons with leaderboards, Achievements, and DVR game clip recording that's been made public.
After a moment, the on-stage player used SmartMatch, a feature that set up a multiplayer match -- based on skill level, language, and reputation -- for Killer Instinct while playing Ryse. When a match was found, the Xbox One launched right into Killer Instinct seamlessly.
After some terrible trash talk and a defeat, Upload Studio was shown. It enables curating, editing, and sharing of videos captured automatically by Xbox One. The end result was a super cheesy recap of the finishing moves in the Killer Instinct match.
Lastly, the phrase "Xbox broadcast" launched Twitch on the console while live inside the game. The app will be directly integrated into the console and allow Xbox Live Gold members to broadcast to their Twitch channels and view other streamers.
